Hmm, I may get to work on starting this RP soon enough. Right, to answer a few questions:

1) This is reasonably based off Arma 3, not entirely since it isn't a fanfic either. It's got considerable influence and idea-making from it. I'll also be taking a lot of inspiration from modern-day war films, a bit of comedy here and there from a series in the UK I follow known as Bluestone 42, and other games such as MOH and others. 

2) Altis is located between Turkey and Greece, and as I mentioned earlier, they're actually real islands. It's just that in this world, they're a completely separate entity, though Greek influence is deep-rooted and pretty much anyone and everyone has a Greek name if they're Altisian. More on that later.
