Edge felt his eyes prickle even further and he stood up and stayed only a foot away from Path. He wanted so badly to hug him, but if he did, Edge would cry all over again. And they needed to sort this out. "Path... you're kind of frustrating me here.." Edge admitted. It was a simple game of questions anymore, this was serious. "I'm not something you need to protect, Path. Do you not trust my words? You do not believe everything I'm saying to you? We don't have much time together, and we both know it. You're really old... and I can't die. I'm going to be missing you, but I need to love you every second while you're still here. Path, you say I'm stronger than you, so let me protect you. It must be hard carrying the whole world on your shoulders." The violet-eyed male said softly. "If you really love me, prove it. Tell me everything. Yell at me if you need to get something out. If you choose to be antisocial, well.." Edge grinned broadly. "I broke that wall once, and I'll break it again if I have to! This fighting isn't good for us,or for our kids. But I won't stop bugging you until you let me in! You of all people should know how dtermined I can be! If things get rough, cry on my shoulder. If life gets too hard to hold onto, hold my hand instead. If you're ever down, just tell me, and..." Looped his arms around the dragon, hugging him warmly. "And I'll do my very best to make you feel better I promise!" He then pulled away, holding Path's hands and kissing his knuckles. "So what if I uses to be a dragon? I'll only leave if you want me to." He paused, and chuckled. "Actually, scratch that. You're stuck with me!" He looked down quickly. "I'm sorry. I've apologized before, but I want to make sure I clear everything up. I'm sorry for taking control of you. I'm sorry that I kissed Sleipnir . And I'm so, so, so sorry I yelled at you. But there is one thing... I will never apologize for." He smiled, a tear threatening to fall down his cheek. "That I broke my jetpack and almost go killed. Because I met the love of my life that day." He then brought their lips together, breathing a toxin into Path's mouth. It had no tongue, no saliva, and no teeth. Just a quick exchange of breath. "Swallow it. I noticed you were feeling faint. That has some pretty strong antibodies that should help you out. Let me protect you, too! Let me fight alongside you, Path!" He held his tongue. "There will be a war soon. I don't want to be on the opposite side of you, but if I feel you're not listening to me, I'll... I'll go crazy! Please, let me see you cry. I want to make sure you still have a soul." He grinned sadly.
