Lars seems to only want Sadie when it's just the two of them around. Given that Lars' parents had no idea who she was, and the Kool Cids only knew her as 'the doughnut lady', it can be pretty safe to say that lars tries very hard to keep up some image of what he thinks the cool kids want, even if that means that he has to push Sadie away to do so. Sadie is aware of this too. She knows how he changes from just the two of them to in public. She didn't believe Steven at all when he told her that he loved her as Lars, probably having esperienced something very similar with Lars at least once before. sociologist/relationship worker mode now off[/hider]
