From Cabal's point of view, Einar is being a dick. Not only did he assume that Cabal despises bonds, he also assumes that he's being a "friend". For Cabal, friends aren't psychologically dependent on affection. He's worried because Einar is acting like a man desperate for love and attention, actions that generally lead to psychopathy. 

He's seen enough slave revolts to know this first hand.
