Julian was honesty glad for a bit of lighthearted conversation at first, and he had chuckled at Samantha’s comment about DeAndro. Honestly, Julian hadn’t had a lot of interaction with him, as he was always busy with something, but something about DeAndro never sat right with him. Maybe it was that he knew Aren was getting ready to retire, even if it was still ways away, and he’d been at the school just as long as Aren had. He wasn’t sure he’d know how to respond to a new Arch Mage. Especially one who seemed so out of place. He honestly snapped himself back to reality when Aren had begun explaining why the announcement was made early. He knew his own eyes had blackened just at the mention of Azrael, but he looked to Samantha. He may not have known the full details of it, but he was the Hell Knight had thrown Samuel in the cage at Lucifer’s command. He had known that Samantha had been innocent, as she had been ruled from the others as well, but he also knew that there was more to the story than even he knew. He stood, and as they spoke about the test, he stood behind her chair, making sure to remain calm. “I’ll stay up with you, Samantha, and if it helps any, I can at least do the demon tests in native tongue. It’ll give about half the class for you, and the demonic dialect now is much simpler to understand.” It was quiet for a moment, and Aren was obviously processing their thoughts. However, once Samantha started speaking, Julian gently rubbed her shoulders as the Arch Mage looked to her. “And then have you either teach a class angry or have to deal with an injured student immediately after your class knowing you were angry. Not likely. Granted, yes, I should have told you sooner, but in the scheme of things it seemed best to wait.” Aren answered before he looked to Julian and then back to Samantha. “Besides, we have other issues to worry about and let’s be honest, Flint isn’t te biggest of them. As for the test administration, I have full confidences in your combined abilities, and I believe that doing the demons in native tongue and the others with animated pages would be a good route.” Aren sat in his chair as DeAndro entered, “Um, sir, another letter from the angels has arrived.” He said, and Aren waved his hand and the letter appeared before him. He paused, briefly and ran his fingers through his hair. “Thank you, DeAndro, you are dismissed.” Once DeAndro left he looked to Samantha and Julian. “Not only do we have a half angel coming in about two weeks, but apparently tomorrow we have a full angel coming down.” Julian rolled his eyes and sighed a bit. “The demons won’t take kindly to it.” He said, “I mean, I’ll do all that I can to keep the violence down, but I also have a feud to watch too.” Aren simply waved a hand. “Billie will stop it, I mean she’s been protecting Colette from them. She’s undeniably Lucifer’s child, even if she’s not. But, if you would feel better, I have some free time sixth period that we can discuss a better action plan for it.” Julian sighed, still rubbing Samantha shoulders. It was helping him a little too, especially knowing that he’d now be watching over angels as well. He didn’t know how she managed so many races. He had a large group of his own and it drove him half mad, but having the angels too was going to kill him. This year would definitely prove how much he could handle as a teacher. “Sometimes this makes me miss the battlefield.” He mumbled. -- Alex listened as Jo went on, but he didn’t say anything more on his birthday after she said what she had. It was nice that B did what she did, sure, but he never felt the need to celebrate. It was just another year he was alive, and at this rate he was sure he’d outlive a lot of the people he had cared for. He had already outlived so many of them. He listened to her as she said her piece about humans and nodded a bit before sighing. “I never said I liked them, don’t get me wrong on that. I’m pretty sure it’s in demon programming to hate humans, but there’s other reasons for that I guess.” He said, and when she started getting upset he felt himself feeling a little bad. “They are pretty gross, but if we didn’t have humans, who else would collectively hone all of the hatred of these races. In a weird way, they kind of prevent us from lashing out too much on each other.” He listened to her and when she got to the page they were starting on he chuckled a bit reading some of the stuff, but as Jo went on he paused. “No, no, you didn’t upset me. Just something came to mind and stuck a little longer than it should have is all. I didn’t mean for it show, I do apologize.” He decided that the best way to move forward was explaining why some of the things on the page weren’t exactly good to say to hjmans. As naïve as most were, he also knew that others werent. Like hunters. Those pieces of work could be a right pain in the assignment as he had found out ages ago. Still, after a while and after getting her assignment finished,, he pushed the book away and put an arm around her. “How about we just stop talking about schoolwork for a while? My brain is screaming at me because it’s done with all of it.” He chuckled. “So, how about now we just kind of get to know each other a little better? So, you can ask me anything and I’ll answer. And vice versa, unless of course the question feels uncomfortable.” Alex felt better now, the bit of relaxation was definitely what he needed, even if he knew he wouldn’t be fully recovered for a few more days. It always took its toll, his anger… but it was a downfall in his genetics. So he couldn’t fully blame himself for it. -- Darren chuckled at her comment about not going to Mexico and shrugged. “Got to keep my old man happy tho. I can’t even remember how long he was in the cage for, but helping him readjust and spending time with him was worth being around weird as fuck natives.” Darren was glad to hear that she wouldn’t worry so much and gave her a grin. “Good, I don’t need you worrying too much about me. As much as I do appreciate the concern. I’d rather you not have to worry.” He wasn’t lying about it. He hated to worry her, especially with how things tended to go when people who sided with him were found out. He chuckled at her thought tho. “This could be true, unfortunately. At least I still have Justin though. He’s done a hell of a job helping me stay off the radar.” When she commented about him already getting detention he shrugged. “One word. Harlow. He’s the Hell Knight that threw my dad in the cage. He just doesn’t like me, so when I mouthed off to him, I got detention. Oh well, shouldn’t be too bad though. So long as I’m not serving with a bunch of idiots.” He smiled at her response to him though. She’d cancel plans for him, well if that didn’t make him feel a little special he’d be lying. However, Garret’s name his eyes blackened for a brief second but returned to normal just as quickly. “He’s just jealous is all, hon. I can’t honestly say I’d blame him, I’d be jealous of me too.” He said, a bit of a joke but not too much. Though he question made him think a minute. “I figure we could go out. Maybe meet up in the forest near the lake. It’s supposed to be a clear night, pretty dark too.” He said as he moved his hand and watched as the shadow opened up his closet and brought a box back. “And before I forget, I did bring you something back.” He said, pulling out a small box with a pair of Opal earrings in it. “You wouldn’t believe how easy the humans are to sucker in Mexico. It’s hilarious really, and since I may not have another chance before your birthday to give them to you, might as well now.” -- Adrian looked to Molly, briefly, at her invitation to breakfast with her and he nodded. “I will join you. Besides, I wouldn’t want to be rude and not join you after this. Which again, thank you.” He said, and he brought up a book as he read a bit. He was still listening to Molly though, and when she motioned upward he saw the symbols and looked at them curiously for a moment. He recognized some but not many, and they were intriguing. “I’m sure the whimpers won’t be a problem. I may wake up for them, but usually once I’m asleep I’m out until morning.” He said, and he went back to his book, briefly, before he chuckled at her response. “Again, thanks for the offer, but I’ll pass. But I do have to say you are very… good at pushing certain buttons.” He said. At this point now, he was just staring at the pages of his book, but when she answered his question he nodded. And then came her warning and he nodded. “Thanks for the heads up, but being part dragon does make allure harder. Something about the psyche of a dragon or some shit. It was explained to me once a long time ago. I just know that if the target has been corrupted once, their minds fold a bit easier than most. And Sirens… well, if they focus on their other powers instead of seduction, could actually be useful. Though the control thing could be right off, very few races have full immunities to allure, so having that would be wise.” He thought after that though. Heather he had already met. She was a friend to Billie, but something about her seemed distant to her all the same. He didn’t know what it was, but he also knew that if she really had been a mermaid once then her mind would likely fold easier than others. Then he also had to find out who Piper was as well, but he still had time. At least his plan of action was coming into some sort of form. -- Billie could only laugh at his response to her. “Thanks a bunch, hon, you’re great.” And she paused to laugh more, “And I would say to get it in writing but I don’t think either one of us would be able to read it ever again.” She was glad he decided not to get up right then and she just continued to lean against him, still annoyingly happy. But she couldn’t help it. Her whole year had been made and even if it had been awkward for like two minutes it had gone away. Then as he talked about Drake, she nodded. “Sal is a sweetheart too. If you thought Clary could be innocent, he makes her look like a perv. Won’t even lie he’s so… innocent, but he is a good kid.” She said, and when she got her answers she sighed in relief. “Thank fucking Lucifer, I don’t know if I could have dealt with a petty vampire all year. I might have been hiding a body before long.” She was joking, but once he said he thought Darren wasn’t coming back she nodded. “I prayed he wasn’t coming back. Because he gets on my nerves just big near him.” She said, and then when they both quieted again and Logan remembered the sweats, she smiled. Then she started laughing when he had trouble standing, and she wasn’t about to hide the fact that she found him thinking his legs were on backwards totally hilarious. Once she was thrown the sweats, she started stripping out of her clothes and waved her hand, watching them fold and place themselves in her bag. “That shit was great. I still have that picture I took from when he found Darren. He hated me then for taking it, but it was too fucking great. Lucifer, am I glad he is coming back.” She said. She giggled a bit as she got his shirt on and the had trouble with the pants. Though at the thought of Garret coming back, she was reminded that Darren would be well taken care of… and watched. Finally, she won the battle with the pants and stood up, pulling her hair up. “Alright, hon, I’m good.” She felt his eyes on her for a moment and at his comment, she shook her head before motioning to her chest. “I have boobs, babe, that alone makes clothes hotter on me.” She laughed a bit before she laid down beside him. She closed her eyes for a minute before she rose her hand up. “Oh, by the way, don’t make plans for Saturday night. I’m throwing Garret a welcome back party, and I will drag you there if I have to. Just got to remember to tell everyone else.” She chuckled, and she turned on her side and looked at him before she yawned. “You know, Lo. I’m glad you’re rooming with Clary and all, but if I didn’t have Alex as a roommate, I would have had you move in with me.” She said, getting herself comfortable and laying her head on his chest. She yawned again, her eyes closing a bit more this time. “That way, whenever we needed each other, we wouldn’t need to look far.” It wasn’t much longer before she was asleep, a smile on her face as she dreamed of what had happened.
