	He is also oddly groomed for a preacher, never being clean shaven or sporting a beard; a five day shadow always haunting him. Then there is his hair; raggedly cut but gelled and styled meticulously in a just rolled out of bed fashion. The man always seems to look like a drunken Halloween Costume parading as a Priest.

A shoulder to lean on and someone to call on when one is heavy hearted, the man would give the shirt off his back to any in need without question.

	On the flip side of that coin is a very human man who strays from the path regularly. When he sees wrong doing he becomes wrathful, laying down his own version of justice that is anything but turn the other cheek. He has addiction problems ranging from gambling to drinking and even the indulgence of the flesh. A hot hand or a hot body is not something he can say no to. Prideful as Lucifer himself, he believes his personal outlook on religion is the perfected middle ground. Such is the duality of Preacher.

[b][color=fff79a]The Reason You Chose The Side You Did:[/color][/b] Looking at his life, one might think that Atticus would hate the Alliance but he doesn't. He sees the virtues in both sides of the war and their sins. He feels they both are in the right and in the wrong and must come to a common ground if either side is going to survive this war. He will never chose a side, but always dance that middle ground and each moment he decides what he will do for himself and what is in the interest of the greater good. 

[b][color=fff79a]History:[/color][/b] Atticus was born to money and wealth, the son of a Magistrate. He never wanted for much; being educated from a young age but the boy was a born trouble maker and used his knowledge of chemistry to blow up more than one class room when a teacher would not give him the grade he felt he deserved. When caught he would bring forth some story of another who had been wrongly prosecuted for standing up for what was right. 

Eventually his father was tired of the fights, the arson, and the attitude; shipping him off to an old Catholic Mission for what he hoped was a little bit of God. He got more than what he bargained for. Atticus had the calling and became obsessed with righting his wrongs and the wrongs of others; taking the letter of the bible too far. He was still starting fires, blowing up places, and stealing from the Alliance - yet now he was backed by the word of god. This lead to several run ins with the law and one charge of man-slaughter that was never able to be proven.

That was until the Unification War Broke out. He was assigned to render last rights to those that had fallen in the battle of Serenity Valley but told not to give any peace to the fallen Browncoats. That was the last straw. To be told who he could and could not save was, in his words, [i]horseshit.[/i] He did so anyways and was locked up for six months for the crime of Insubordination & Assault With A Holy Artifact. (He based a commanding officer over the head with a bible.)

After his release he re-evaluated his life. God was still there but he felt god was on vacation. Sitting down he prayed, and drank, and loved, and lost, and had hang overs, and got tossed in jail a few nights, and then repeated the process until one day while walking to the local watering hole he spotted Vengeance and felt a tug towards it. Taking an open spot on Vengeance he has kept with them, helping where he can and using the vessels stopping points as places to preach and to get his sin on.
