Nyt wasn’t one to refuse sleep and immediately welcomed it as soon as Eddie plunged them into darkness, and she absentmindedly silenced the sounds of the city beyond them. She was careful, however, to remember to overhear certain locations that she and Eddie had previously scouted, in case the Suicide Squad made another unwelcomed surprise visit. In her dream world, she visited the Sanctuary once again, just to make her final goodbyes. Having them constantly on her mind, unsure she would be able to avenge them, weighed her down greatly and she knew she needed closure. Most of all, she missed Lisa’s wisdom and authoritative motherly role, Jackson’s paternal instincts over the females, or Aja’s bright laugh whenever she heard a good song. Above all, the one death that made her unable to completely forgive the Suicide Squad was Jennifer’s, the doe-eyed girl who brought them all pizza on the very first day they all met. She could still remember the young girl pleading for her life, and although she and Eddie made an attempt to save the youngest person from the group, it was too late. With the tears silently streaming down her face, she hugged the girl one last time as her deceased friends nodded. She was brought out of the world, however, by the thud outside their bedroom and she immediately snapped back into the real world, making sure the room was still silent on the outside to any intruders. Irritated that she wouldn’t get to sleep after all, she grabbed her beloved dagger Crichton from under her pillow and nodded over at Eddie whose eyes were as full as fright as Nyt’s. The thuds turned into knocks, before the person announced themselves in a female voice. “Room service! I brought fresh towels and compliments from the Manager.” Nyt didn’t trust a single world and she made her way to behind the door so Eddie could open it. “I promise, we’ll be okay,” she mouthed, hoping to God she conveyed confidence. Slowly, Eddie pulled the door open only to be jumped by rather feline-looking woman and Nyt grunted as she pounced on her back with the dagger to her throat, careful not to slit it.
