He didn't really take offense to the team composition seeing as Lorelai set herself up with familiar faces, and her love. Same for Fei and Jessi being together. It just so happened that Axon was one of the "misfit" names that got put into an odd team. Titania seemed... well for lack of a better team, like an overly aggressive fight seeker. Měihóu on the other hand seemed to be more of a passive sort, but also a possible realist which would be welcome type. Time would tell though...
