Hmm... Lets say Nidhogg decides that the battle has lost its fun, and retreats. Ferrin won't follow, as he has an inkling that he was set up. I can't speak for the others, though.

From what I've seen, Nidhogg could rebound from that easily.

Edit: And I don't mind Ferrin getting in trouble for the general mayhem. Makes things interesting.

Double Edit: Or perhaps you could follow the idea of Nidhogg losing control, forcing him to retreat to gather his strength.
