I was summoned from a house pet a year ago." Gender: Female Race: Neko Sexuality: "I have work to do." Personality: Created to keep Gwynn on track while she attended school, Maoin is more traditional than her mistress. While the neko won't constantly harp at a person, she won't shy away from periodically reminding them of their duties. The black haired girl believes society shaped itself in a certain optimum manner, and even though she is at the bottom of it she supports the general structure. Maoin doesn't like being given frivolous tasks or having to clean up after a person who is attempting to create a large mess. Even without such frivolity, the fifteen year old usually has an expression suggesting she is somehow dissatisfied with the world. When she has free time, she will usually be found on a windowsill or a tall object peering out over the world. History: Formerly a barn cat, Moain was granted sentiency by House Foghlu in Ireland. After being given a quick tour of her duties and a year to practice them, the girl was sent off to be Gwynn's familiar at school. She was given basic instruction in reading and writing, along with how to care for a lady properly. Because the nobles felt their daughter wasn't taking her marriage assignment seriously, they instructed the neko to make sure her mistress was put on the 'right' track. After being explained the political reasons for such a marriage, Moain quickly agreed to make that her quest. Magic: The neko hasn't learned any powers, however her enhanced senses of taste, smell, and hearing are useful for detecting poison, intruders, or gossip that may harm herself or her mistress. Inventory: 'The collar itself was simple, but elegant. It was made of comfortable black dyed silk over a leather base to give it support, and enchanted to resist wear and tear on it. Sewn into the fabric were decorative white embellishments, and hanging off the front of it with a thick, durable cord of leather was a single topaz, shined and cut to perfection.' 'A thin shortsword appeared in her owner's hand, the hilt colored black just like her own hair. Simple, but seeming well crafted in truth ...' On the bright side, using the lesser Grimore is incredibly mana light and takes up almost no time at all. (Go down to Catalyst to read more). He's currently working on being able to use the Grimore as a teleporting turret and lower the cast times of his spells, but it is quite a bit of work at this point to improve. Prima: Wind Schneiden Many thin black slices of air fly at a high velocity towards his target up to 50 feet away. Aside from causing a lot of superficial cuts, currently they don't do too much damage unless one chooses to stand in the line of fire. Although light on the mana pool, alone they don't do much damage. Immuto: Verfall A powerful support spell designed to bring down an enemy over time. Many mages have healing magic and many familiars have some sort of regenerative ability., but aside from the most powerful of healing magics or abilities, Verfall prevents healing of already existing wounds on a target. Appearing as a lance of darkness traveling at high speed, upon impact the lance shatters and small fragments of it jump into preexisting wounds. On the downside, it doesn't do any damage and the target must already be wounded to have an effect. Other Magics: Sven spends some time studying other magics in order to gain a foundational understanding of them so he can understand how to manage magic in his Principality when he inherits the throne. Catalyst: Lesser Grimore of Von Zauberbuch: A large, 10 pound Wyrven-leather covered book with a massive lock on it. Despite it's weight, it only contains about fifty pages worth of material. A spell written within it takes up a number of pages depending on it's complexity, requiring to be written in a fine, golden ink. After the writing was finished, a mage had to pour some mana into it in order to seal the words onto the page. A massive explosion can take up to ten pages, and takes about an hour per page to prepare. Additionally, the Grimore has a preperation time before firing a spell (about a second per page) allowing the enemies to be aware of what is going on (If they know latin, at least). After a spell is fired, the ink dissapears and the spell must be rewritten at a later point in time. Right now the fourteen year old carries it from an attached chain slung over his left arm, the nobleman bearing it's weight as he walks around. The key to it is attatched by chain inside a small pocketwatch that he wears from his neck at all times. Other Skills: From the halls of nobility, Swen has a good idea about doing the casual noble arts: ballroom dancing, playing the piano, and courtly grace are skills he has aquired throughout the year. Inventory: The Lesser Grimore The Pocketwatch & Key Fancy Clothes Familiar: (Considering his background, it would only make sense for him to have one. Post in the OOC or PM me if interested) Personality: Valuing his noble title a little too much, the Magierprinz relies on it as a crutch in the outside world. Even after three years here, it comes up sometimes in conversation. Despite this flaw, at his core Swen is a chivalric man. He believes that it his god given duty to protect the weak, the old, and the women from any harm that may become them, and assist them with their day to day lives. Strongly believing in the concept of honor, he will never lie and considers lying purely by omission to be dishonorable conduct. Somewhat of a recluse, the mage spends a lot of time studying magic in the alcove of his room. Backstory: Born as the son of a reigning Prince-Mage, Swen has grown up with wealth and splendor surrounding him. From a young age, he was raised mostly by servants and other people in the court, only seeing his busy parents formally during dinner and perhaps and hour afterwards each day. This doesn't mean that his parents were cruel or unemotional, just that they dedicate themselves to ruling over their lands to ensure justice for every citizen. Because of this environment, Swen started to become a recluse. He would focus on books a little more than what would normally be considered healthy, and found very few friends that were his age. Although this allowed him to excel at magic for his age, his parents eventually saw the flaw in his lack of connections to others his age and sent him off to St. Sappho to help him socially adjust. Due to a dangerous political situation back home, they lined up a political marriage for him.

Aetheria Gagne

"Seize the life God Granted you."
Age: "Twenty-Six." Gender: Female Race: Human Personality: When drunk and alone, Aetheria rambles about her future conquests, claiming the throne of one country or another for herself. In one word: Ambition. Having grown up in poverty, she firmly believes that it isn't evil to crush someone in your path to greatness. To her, we speak of Ghengis Khan and rarely those he conquered. Life is simply a competition of convinction and reasources, and those who don't play will get brutally crushed by the waves of time. This isn't to say she is evil: rather, she simply doesn't care about those who can't help her. The white mage will befriend those who side with her, and defeat those who don't. Despite this philosiphy, she does find a few joys in life. Firstly, she commonly visits bars as they grant her mind the relaxation it needs. She tried to pick up formal instruments, but feels that she is terrible with them. Ashamed of her upbringing and status as a peasant, she is easily offended when somebody uses them against her. History: Born as a peasant girl in Northern France, an English army raided her home at twelve and brought her entire family to ruin. Forced to pitifully beg on the streets of her ruined village, Aetheria somehow managed to survive for two years until she managed to secure another source of income: selling her body in Paris. A peasant girl without parents had few other options. One day after work, white magic simply clicked for her. She left Paris, going to the countryside and charging peasantry and nobility extreme prices to save their loved ones: healing them part of the way only to start bargaining for increased payment. Eventually the Aetheria managed to gain the essential funding to get herself enrolled in St. Sappho. Although more liberal than most schools, she still suffered abuse due to her lowly status. Eventually however, she graduated with a formal education and remained as an instructor of the healing arts. Probably not morally the best person for the job, students have been successful under her watch, and those with serious injuries return home patched up. Magic: Aside from Pancea, Aetheria has incredibly powerful healing that is matched by few others in the world. The closer in proximity, the better. On the offensive side of magic, Aetheria can point her staff forward and fire a 'lance' of light that can hit targets even at the furthest of ranges. Up close, her best option is to fall further back and allow another person to take the hit. Exhaustion filled her lungs, as if she had been running for quite some time. Loud, angry voices screamed in some forgotten tounge as the girl whisked down what appeared to be an alleyway. Their intent was obvious, and the girl was running for her life, bread in hand. A few minutes passed as the girl took twists, turns, and other ways as she tried to find her way to safety. By some misfortune, she ran into a dead end with high, windowless walls around her, and solid wooden doors her frail limbs were simply too weak to quick open. The shadows of various pitchforks, scythes, and other farming implements came down the alleyway, approaching. Seconds later the girl knew she would be caught, and in a futile attempt to defend herself drew out a small length of bronze - a simple homemade shank. A hand grasped her from behind ... A small dining table, with a frail old man and woman, and a glass in her own hand. The conversation was lagged, obviously awkward, though a feeling of deep thanks filled the girl who had been saved from peril. Those around the table countinued to talk about seemingly unimportant matters, the group of them laughing ... Working in the fields. Hard, rewarding work. The old couple worked, laughing together. The young girl looked into the water, the reflection showing someone who couldn't be older than twelve. Eyes in the most radient blue looked back, seeing hair like the yellow of a fire. The yellow haired girl's vision turned from the pool to the couple with a smile, before she returned to the day's work ... Chains weighed heavily around her wrists, forcing them up to the bronze collar she was wearing. The rest of her body was bound in a heavy hemp rope, which she couldn't break free from. It was hard to see out of her teary eyes, but the blurry image of the old couple recieving a pouch of coins from a well dressed man - a slaver - was burned clear in her mind ... Livia would find herself in a nobleman's house, with no indication as to where. For the remainder of the dream, she would be a slave in a greek man's house, being used, beaten, whipped, tourtured, and otherwise abused. Eventually, the urge to escape would come over her, and she would find herself running through a field ... until a spear point protruded from her chest ...

Inventory She had chosen a black leather collar with small silver spikes jutting out of it and there was a small pink trim along the sides - the front had a pink heart shaped buckle that a leash or similar object could be attached and a small name tag already hung from. The name tag glowed for a second as she picked it up, and new writing appeared on it. Meowka, Familiar of Miss Katherine Lindall of St. Sappho Academy

She comes from a poorer peasant family, with most of them killed in the plague aside from her brother. She decided to go to Sappho to get an education while her brother went to foriegn shores to work as a mercenary. In exchange for working in Livia's manner her living expenses are paid for and tuition is waived. As for personailty, she tends to be just a bit uppidty to authority (as she obviously picked on Cynthia) but in the end tends to follow it. Having suffered from nervousness in the past (which being on the campus has helped with) she's developed into a more normal girl who enjoys going out for drinks and has fun in her time off. But that's why she can read Fia's distress so easily. She also isn't very proud by nature, so she wasn't trying to get in Fia's 'good shoes' with that comment. Appearance: Youthful 16 year old - typically with a smile on her face as she ties her curly hair up into a convenient bun for her work.
