"Good morning, Mercer City! This is your friendly neighboorhood anchorman, Pete McMannis, with today's news. Our top story for the hour, local billionaire and business mogul, Reed Haynes, has donated a aztec relic to the Mercer City Museum of Science and Natural History, which was thought to be lost to history. This relic, called "The Revealing Stone" was said to be found in a lost ruin somewhere in the dense forests of Peru. And the ruin was found by an expedition team, funded and led by Haynes himself. And Haynes even gave a speech to an audience that was present to the relic's addition event. Here is he had to say:

	Haynes: Greetings and salutations, fellow citizens. Today I bring to you a piece of missing history, so mysterious in fact that it was not even recorded in the carvings of the ruins at all. I do not know what the stone is supposed to do but I learn from my fellow members of the expedition that the stone apparently possesses "great power". I can feel a certain something coming from it, but I digress. But, I not only give you this relic in hopes that we learn more about the history of centuries past, but I give you something even greater, a chance to open your eyes to new or old and exciting experiences from all over the world. Because that is what makes us humans so special, we make our mark on the world and hope others learn and grow from our culture and our teachings. So please accept this gift from me, in hopes that you learn and grow from those before us. Thank you."

What a great person. Anyways, the museum is putting on the finishing touches to the exhibit for where the Revealing Stone will be held and will be available to the public by tomorrow morning. I definitely want to get a good look at how valuable it is. Kidding, only kidding! This is Pete McMannis, saying good day, Mercer City! And have a safe one!"

-That night, something bizarre happened...

"Greetings, Mercer City. I'm Pete McMannis with a breaking news story. Eyewitness reports are coming in about a sighting of a strange and foreboding wave of dark energy flying through the city, hitting any and all bystanders, knocking them off balance or a slight nudge. But the dread and fear felt from the dark wave are profound. Some even say that the wave originated from the Mercer City museum. Authorities are already on the scene and are investigating all exhibits to find the source of this strange and eerie phenomenon. So far, they have found no explosive ordinance remains or anything that would resemble a detonator. Some claim that the wave might have come from the museum's new exhibit, the Revealing Stone. Authorities are skeptical that such a thing could happen, but have not ruled it out as a cause. As for us here at Mercer City News, we will give you full updates as the story develops. -Three days later 

"Hello, Mercer City. You know who I am so let's get to the news, shall we? It's been three days since the dark wave hit our fair city and since then, strange occurrences and bizarre incidents have been plaguing the city up to this point. reports of people seeing strange shadowy figures that follow them where-ever they go as well as people dying in gruesome and strange ways. Medical personnel and Authorities have been on their toes to try and figure out the causes of these bizarre deaths but with no clues or evidences, trails are going cold left and right. And if that isn't enough, reports from off the street have been coming in about the ramblings of people talking about the "return of a god" and his intentions of "creating a new era for the earth". Police believe to think that maybe the killings have been made by a cult like group who might be worshiping this "god" and might be following his orders. The police also believe that if this cult exists, then they might have been the ones who have released the dark wave from the museum, when asked about how, the police have yet to figure it out. As for us here, we will make sure to update you as the story develops. But I ask you, not as a reporter, but a good man, please be safe. We don't know what's going on in our fair city, but whatever it is, I fear its only the beginning....This is Pete McMannis saying, be careful out there. Alright? Thanks."

A strange event happened when a wave of dark energy hit the town one night. Now people are starting to see figures, shadowy figures, following them around. What's even worse, they appear to be of their own making, as the shadows appear to represent them, well the worst parts of themselves. And if that's not enough, people are going nuts, as some claim a god has risen once more to reclaim the earth and bring about a new era. Whatever that means, it can be good for Mercer City or anyone else. Can anyone rise up and find out what the fuck is going on in this city? Or will it fall to this so-called "God" and become the domain for which he will rule the earth? Nothing is certain, except one thing. Some serious shit is about to go down...

Shades, that is what the people are calling them. As they represent the darker shades of their psyche, the dark secrets people hide from the outside world. Luckily for them, no one can see them, well except for those who have Shades too. Oops. Anyways, its not like its all bad, as the Shades can be useful to protect their host in times of trouble. nothing wrong with getting yourself dirty, as long as you make it out alright. But the shades can only go so far from their hosts, also if the host gets hurt, so do the Shade. Tough break. Guess that means you gotta be careful when you getting in a scrap or you just might end up on the news, in a bad way of course.
