He has thick black hair and deep emerald eyes. He gained the marks on his body from the experiments that were done on him by underground magicians. Personality: Before the experiments, Gabriel used to be a very cheerful child. He was outgoing and always sought out more friends to hang out or play with. All of his friends loved to be around him and thus, he generally was the heart of the group. After the kidnapping and the subsequent experiments, he became withdrawn, cold and anti-social. Although he was forced to mature early, he overcame his forced meekness when he decided to escape the clutches of the magicians. He's a quick learner and before the experiments, he loved to read books about different topics in his spare time. Due to this, he can come out as quite the knowledgeable young fellow at times. Background:

The son of a middle-class merchant, Gabriel had a very normal life up until the kidnapping. In school, his above-the-average intellect translated into high grades and when the magical exam came, he was found to have a high affinity for lightning magic. He had friends that he played with every day after school, a home to come back to and a warm plate of food along with the warm smiles of his father and mother. He generally lead a very carefree life. Around the time of his twelfth birthday, a rumour had gotten out that mysterious kidnappings had started happening in his town. Young, promising boys and girls mysteriously went missing. It was only one or two at first, but as time passed, more and more kids went missing and as such, the authorities became involved. That, however, did not stop the criminals. One day as he was walking to the grocery store to buy vegetables for his mother, four or five cloaked figures suddenly came out of nowhere, surrounded him and blocked him from going anywhere. He of course panicked, but the figures quickly restrained him, covering his mouth so he wouldn't be able to cry for help. One of the figures traced a symbol in the air, placing a spell on him. He looked at the magician but because of the spell, his eyes grew heavy and his sight blurry. Soon enough, he slipped into unconsciousness and was swiftly taken away by the cloaked figures. Fast forward a day, Gabriel woke up inside a dark cell. He was stripped of all his previous clothes and was now only wearing a loose white piece of fabric. Like every other normal person that found themselves in this situation, he panicked. For hours he shouted his lungs out whilst throwing anything that was throwable towards the cell's iron bars. After what seemed an eternity to him and after he was reduced to a corner of the cell, quietly weeping, a tall, cloaked man came out of nowhere. He practically dragged him out of the cell. Gabriel tried to resist the man, he thrashed and punched, he bit at his arm and kicked his legs, but to avail. In the end, he quietly followed the man all the way into a brightly lit room. After entering the room, Gabriel was not given even the time for his eyes to get accustomed to the sudden change in lighting. He was viciously picked up, placed and strapped fast onto a cold, iron table. Gabriel looked around through his squinted eyes, only to see a myriad of tools and equipment that he had no knowledge of. After waiting for a couple of minutes, the man came back and that time, he had brought another man with him. This was a hunched, elderly man who wore a white fur coat and leather gloves. He looked at Gabriel with a pitiful look on his face and then shuffled through his equipment. A few seconds passed and he turned around, a milky white looking stone on his left hand. He placed it over Gabriel's bare chest and waited. Slowly, the stone started changing colours; from milky white to deep purple. In the centre of the stone, sparks could be seen flickering. The elderly man turned to the cloaked man and nodded. After that, the cloaked man took him back to his cell. He was left there, just that. No explanation, nothing. That night, a guard came over and gave Gabriel a huge platter of food. Everything he could think of, it was there. Obviously, the small boy ate everything, since he was starving. Deep down in his heart, however, he knew that something was wrong. The following day, the cloaked man returned and led him once more to the brightly lit room. He was once more placed on the iron table, arms and legs strapped in place. The elderly man entered the room with a cold look on his face and a sharp tool in his hands. What followed could not be described. Gabriel was given a special kind of potion that increased his vitality but that only served to further his agony. Through blood-curdling screams and rivers of tears, he eventually fainted. Three days later, he woke up in a cell, muddleheaded and with every spot on his body being sore. He felt an itch on his chest and so he raised his ragged clothing only to find out that a purple, oval stone the size of his fist was embedded into his chest area, right over where his heart was. Veins spread and coiled in the periphery of the stone before fading into his body. Gabriel was obviously stunned by this discovery. What stunned him even more, though, was the fact that he could feel a weird presence inside of him. It was like a snake that coiled around his very bones, travelling all over his body before returning back and entering the stone. With time, Gabriel came to understand that what he felt was actually magic, and more specifically, lightning magic. Time passed and Gabriel had nothing to do. The cloaked man did not return after that day and only the guards that kept watch on him remained. Occasionally the guards put shackles on him and led him to another room where a different elderly man experimented on him, but other than that, Gabriel spent most of his time inside his cell. This kept up for two years straight, until one fateful day. It was the time for the guards to change. It was the regular routine for the most part, but for that one time. Gabriel had gotten to know all of the people guarding his cell during the two years he was locked up and so when a new face appeared and took his place next to his cell, Gabriel's eyes lit up. You have to understand that he had never given up on escaping and as such, he viewed this as his one and only chance. So one night when the new guard brought him his dinner, Gabriel mustered up all the courage he had and grabbed the guards unprotected hand. Previously, all the other guards protected their hands with thick leather gloves because they had previous knowledge of his powers and thus, Gabriel couldn't do anything to them. This new one, though, did not! The purple lightning snake flowed from Gabriel's hand to the guard, quickly travelling all over his body. The guard couldn't protect himself from the sudden magical attack and was thus paralysed, giving Gabriel the chance to escape. Whenever the guards would take him away for experiments, Gabriel made sure to map all the routes they took and thus had made a rough map of the dungeon in his mind. He bolted out of his cell and ran through corridors and halls with all his might whilst taking care to not get detected by other guards. Eventually, after some time, he found himself in front of a large door. He pushed it open and ran outside. It was nighttime and as he looked around, he realised that he was not in his hometown. He heard behind him commotion and noise, it was the guards. He ran as fast as he could towards a direction and eventually found himself in a harbour of sorts. There were countless ships docked there. He looked behind and saw flickers of light coming towards his direction so he breathed in and made his decision. He ran and dived into the sea and swam towards the biggest ship he could see, climbing all the way up its anchor and onto the deck. Tired as he was, he found an empty barrel to hide inside before falling asleep right then and there. The sudden rocking of the ship woke him up some time after. He rubbed his eyes and perked his ears. Voices could be heard from outside the barrel. The ship rocked violently and he heard more screams. "TAKE COVER!" he heard a man's voice before a huge wave crashed onto the ship, capsizing it.

Salvaged Item: The white clothing he wears.
[sub]
Abilities
[/sub] [sup][sup][sup]
[/sup][/sup][/sup]
Skills: Aside from his above-the-average intellect and his knowledge over a variety of subjects, from history to strategy to even cooking recipes, Gabriel has an an unusually high affinity with lightning magic. After his parents discovered this fact, they bought all the books they could find on magic, especially this particular branch of magic, and had him study them all. Thus, he has a pretty firm grasp on the basics of magic and its uses, but nothing too advanced. Aside from his innate ability, he also has the purple oval stone that's embedded in his chest. Gabriel has known for a while now that the stone has most likely something to do with lightning magic. If it didn't then he would not have been able to stun that guard and then escape. Unfortunately, his knowledge of the subject of magic stones and crystallized mana is pretty shallow, as the books he read did not delve into that as much as other things. Weaknesses: He's a weak and malnourished 14-year-old boy that just barely survived a shipwreck. His physical abilities could be described as trash level, to the point that any random feral animal that saw him as a tasty piece of meat could very efficiently rip him to pieces. Apart from that, he has no other weaknesses really. He's not afraid of insects or anything of that sort and his mental fortitude can be described as a tall, solid wall of steel. Two years of continuous torture and experiments can do that to you. Combat Style: None, as of now. Other: Although he might come out as cold and anti-social, deep down he wants someone to speak to that will hear him out and console him. Whoever's the first person to show any amount of kindness towards him and earns his trust, he will cling to for life.

I just read somewhere in the OOC that the voyage took a month or so. Obviously, my man did not go into a coma or smthing for a whole month and woke up right when the ship capsized, only to go into a coma once again until he washes up on the shore xD. Let's just say he was a sneaky little fella and managed to get by without getting caught...pls....
