Actually... he could feel pleasure. Think of it like being in an elevator and there are 9 floors. Floors 1-4 are pain and 6-9 are pleasure. Normally you're on the 5th floor. Now let's say the floors below you are gone. Well then you'd only feel your neutral state of feeling like the air blowing against your skin or the feeling of your clothes and you would also feel pleasure.
