[@WanderingSpirit] So he still sees "everything normal(to an extent)"+coloured stuff? Since you said he turned blind...or was that just for the sake of fluff? Like he doesn't just see a person as a energy source but actually can make out their details(See face, body yadda yadda)? That's still fine, and considering Yggdrasil Seeds can be de/activated at will(Since having them active cost mana) he won't even be too blinded by all those light beacons full of mana.
I would say that he would be able to see the general shape of people as their energy source, with the curves and features of their body along with some more details. But they'd be just that, they'd all look like mannequins to him after that point with varying intensities of their 'glow' as an indication of how much magical resource they have. Other living organisms will have their solid shapes as well but not fine detail like the lines of the leaves or the texture of bark on the trees and similar cases. If he'd deactivated the seed, it would make him blind again in both senses since he lost his regular sight after having them rewired permanently and now his magical sight making him truly blind. Hopefully, the mana cost perhaps will be manageable or neglectable even as compensation for losing his other sight for this but no doubt there will be moments where he'd have to turn it off. I'd consider his Seed to be a great weapon for him yet his greatest handicap for the tournament.
