Her teeth lack any sort of yellow tint, her regularly brushed hair is soft and free from tangles, and her fair, almost spotless (considering that she is a teenager) skin is evidence of how spending time under the scorching summer sun as a child was a rarity for Val. She currently stands at an impressive 5’7, though she secretly dreads the fact that she'll continue to rapidly grow and take after her 6’3 monster of a father. Her build is quite lean, and she has enough meat on her to be able to take a trip on concrete without wincing that much. Her strict mother had always urged Val to improve her posture as a child, so unless the girl's extremely exhausted there won't be any slumped shoulders or hunched backs. In terms of her voice, Val has a clear and optimistic British accent, and although she tends to speak very politely to whoever she's with, her politeness and mannerisms tend to vary depending if she's with her friends or her parents. Zooming into her facial features, Val’s eye colour are a peculiar chartreuse green, and she has thick dark brown eyelashes and eyebrows, the same colour as her straight chest length hair. Although Val's eyebrows have a nice shape to them, she's been called caterpillar brows since the first day she walked into her new classroom. She's long forgotten how self conscious her prominent brows used to make her, and she even often jokes how rubbing her brows gives her good luck. On another note, just below her left shoulder she has a relatively big birth mark, though it can't be seen very often due to her choice of clothing. Clothing wise, Val chooses to wear loose fitting, feminine clothes, whether it be dresses, knee length skirts and the like. Although she hates to admit it, almost all of Val's clothing doesn't sell for a cheap price, and so even if she is just walking to school she'll be checking for the tiniest specks of dirt on her pearly white socks every twenty minutes. Thus, if she's going to be running around in the grass or something, she'll opt for her older skirts and tops, even if they are tight as hell. Val also has a knack for knitting as well, and isn’t afraid to show off her creations during the late autumn and mid winter seasons.
[sup]
❱❱❱❱ PERSONALITY
[/sup]
To put it simply, Val is the courageous and caring mum of her group, or at least tries to act as something similar. With her mother frequently out of the house due to work and her father falling ill more times than normal, looking after people, worrying about their well being and being responsible in general has become second nature to her. With an outgoing and talkative nature to boot, one could also see her as the spokesman for the much more shy people in her circle of friends. Although she doesn’t mind a small circle of friends, Val is the type of person who attempts to stretch her friendliness towards the rest of her classmates. Being one to like talking, laughing and just being around others, Val is clearly an extrovert. Ever since she had moved to St Stephens from London, Val was very eager to make as many friends as she could, just so she wouldn't feel so alienated and lonely from the other kids as she grew older. Also, being the sort of motherly figure she is, nagging about unhealthy appetites and acting stern towards others isn’t uncommon. The girl is also very… well, good. She does her best to keep herself (and others) out of trouble, she doesn’t talk back to her teachers, being polite to everyone is one of her big necessities, and acting all graceful, calm and ladylike is her main priority. Keep in mind the word ‘priority’; though Val may be a righteous soul, she secretly has a lot of doubts on how the way she acts towards the townsfolk - or rather, was taught to act - limits herself from what she wants to do and be. She’s sort of just been forced to follow what her mother's every word since day one, so in a way her outdoor personality is more like a facade. But, while her kindheartedness is not, Val hasn’t really ever done much for the sake of herself. Basically, she's just very confused about herself as a person and what she wants. She really only feels like she’s able to be herself around her closer friends, and so she strives to protect and keep them close by any means possible. Like, she will actually get mad if something were to happen. And that's not a very nice sight to see either. Val seems to have a bad tendency of keeping her problems and internal conflict to herself. While she always claims to be open to listening to other people's problems, bottling up her own is the usual for her. She doesn't want anyone, especially her parents worrying about her at all, even though she's one of the biggest worry warts herself. Causing trouble for people is the least she wants, so she just keeps her own issues to herself. Definitely not a good thing, especially when Val's ferocious, but mostly unseen temper is likely to be set off due to her bottling up her doubts and emotions all the time.
[sup]
❱❱❱❱ FAMILY
[/sup]
Jocelyne Duval, 47 – Despite working almost all day everyday at her restaurant, once she walks out of those doors the woman knows how to make a strong presence. Simply put, Jocelyne is seen as and is the top dog, whether she's at home or at her restaurant. Her influence on Val as a child was immense, being the one who strictly taught her the ways of her idea of the perfect and ‘proper lady’; clean, elegant, smart, polite and righteous. Moulding her child into what she wanted Val to become was Jocelyne's top priority - a priority that her husband has many times voiced his doubts on. Even to this day where Val is supposedly at a ‘likely to rebel’ age, the girl hasn't spoken back to her mother once. Val doesn't even want to think what would happen if Jocelyne found out about that single late homework detention she got, or the accidental ‘theft’ of a classmate's expensive pen. It also seems that Jocelyne has a very cynical outlook on society, though she doesn’t, and most likely never will share those thoughts with anyone. However, as strict and firm the woman is, Val understands that she's a hard worker who provides well, and so doesn't want to make a trouble for her.

Alan Duval, 48 – The spitting image of his daughter personality wise. A kindhearted but unfortunate man, Alan was the one that Val would usually see after the school day ended, mostly due to his tendency to fall ill whatever day of the year it was. The two share a very close bond as they spend a lot of time with each other, and during those times the man will drop a few wise words and passing down his own morals to his daughter. He understands that Val will make mistakes along the road, and he will always be there to encourage her to get back onto her two feet. In terms of his relationship with his wife… It's clear that Jocelyne is the dominant one.
[sup]
❱❱❱❱ RELATIONS
[/sup]
---
[sup]
❱❱❱❱ TALENTS
[/sup]

• Cooking - Since Val had nothing much to do after school, whipping out an old cookbook of her mother's and just cooking whatever became her number one hobby. Taking after her mother's talent in cooking and pretty much having to do it all the time, Val is one hell of a cook.

• Basic house chores - Since there's rarely anyone else able to do it, getting stuff to look neat and clean is almost second nature. While Val is able to handle walking through a treacherous forest, walking through an unattended house with laundry and scraps lying about is a freaking nightmare for her. The girl is a literal clean freak, and won't stop till every spec of dirt is gone.

• Knitting and sewing - After learning how to sew and knit from her mother, Val has been knitting scarves, gloves and hats every September in preparation for the upcoming winter season. Sometimes she'll even hand you down some old wool bonnets if you really want.

• Basic medical knowledge - Val can plaster up someone pretty well. She at least knows how to deal with someone's bloody gash or burning temperature.

• Voice mimicking - Val is surprisingly good at mimicking people's accents and voices. Although she's limited to voices that sound more womanly, she can hit that low note pretty well.

RP: [s]STARLIGHT[/s]
