[indent]Alex was born into a family of over-achievers, and to parents that expected nothing less than perfection from her. As the youngest, Alex had always lived in the shadow of her older siblings. They were practically perfect in every way, and Alex had always just been…[i]Alex[/i]. She got average grades (even though she pulled all-nighters on a regular basis) and was never particularly talented in anything. Which was why when her powers manifested when she was thirteen, Alex was thrilled. Finally she had something that made her special. Although a little [i]too[/i] special, according her parents. They made her promise to never tell a soul about her powers so that their family wouldn’t be viewed negatively by others. But Alex had always hoped that one day she could become the hero that she always dreamed that she could be. She knew that she was given powers for a reason, and she wanted to protect those that couldn’t protect themselves. That’s why there was not even a bit of hesitation in her response to the institute’s invitation.

[indent]Alex stands at 5’3” and has a slender build. She has slightly wavy dark brown, almost black hair that reaches her bust and dark brown eyes. There isn’t anything particularly eye-catching about her appearance, but she has a smile so bright that it can light up a room. Fashion-wise she tends to wear quite feminine clothing. She loves floral prints, flowy skirts and dresses, flats, and pastel colours.

[indent][u]Healing:[/u] 
Alex has the ability to heal bodily damage through touch. If she is in physical contact with someone she can heal any of their minor wounds, such as cuts, bruises, and light burns. She can stop bleeding and help them recover from minor to moderate blood loss. Because of the power running through veins, her body heals at an accelerated rate. However, she is still susceptible to major/fatal wounds.

At this point, Alex is unable to heal any critical wounds such as lost limbs, nerve damage, and internal injuries. Cells that have been fatally damaged (e.g. by burning) cannot be healed/restored, and will leave scars.[/indent]

[indent]Alex is a kind soul with both an open heart and mind, and she is (by nature) very trusting. Because of her naivety she tends to be the butt of many jokes, and has run into a bit of trouble from time to time. Not only is she naive, but she is also a bit dense. Alex is the type of person saying “…I don’t get it” amidst a sea of laughter. Being the little beacon of sunshine that she is, she greets every new face with a warm smile and is quite friendly. She tries her best to make those around her happy. Although Alex tries her best to support and uplift others, she can get quite down on herself and has self-esteem issues. Her self-disparagingness deters her from doing tasks she is entirely capable of doing. Her worries can cause her to lose focus when using her powers.[/indent]
