Scenario time:

I don't have Lucy or Lynnette do 'EV Training'. They battle someone who does 'Ev training'.

Would that mean they would automatically lose, or be at a disadvantage against them, since they don't EV train? If so, then that's just ridiculous. EV training shouldn't factor at all into someones battles, as then battles just turn into who can buff their pokemon up more with Proteins and vitamins.

Basically what [@Heckno12]'s is saying. I'm not going to be using showdown at all, as its a cheap, unfair way to conduct battles in my opinion as some pokemon are just inherently going to be stronger than another thanks to how the pokemon metagame is set up. Not to mention, you can't take environmental factors into account, etc, but I digress.

EV's/IV's should have no effect on the outcome of a written battle at all.
