He thinks he can take on things that he can't, and thinks he's stronger than he is, simply because of his need to be viewed as something more than a child. While he has an arrogant side to him, he isn't selfish, and is willing to go out of the way for the people that he cares about.

Charlie is rather outgoing and tries to make friends, but normally has a bad wrap because of his natural arrogance, even though he tries to come off as nice as he can. Even though he can't handle all of the things he claims to, when he sets his mind on something he intends to complete that goal, no matter what the sacrifice.
