[@boomlover] Actually, the ship's are basically as is, there isn't upgrading persay. To do such would require weeks if not months in dock. As far as working on the ship goes, tinkering or repairing, attempts can be made within reason but outcomes are rolled for to see if they succeed, fail, or catastrophically fail.
