[@BCTheEntity] Originally they were causing trouble, messing with travelers and murdering them. Eventually, a group of peasants and a few knights fought them. The Tengu won, but a powerful wizard cursed them so that they would die if they incurred the wrath of another creature. Now they're a bit shorter and fatter since killing stuff is less of a viable option.
