Kevin nods to Ilyndriel as he takes Jeffery, holding him securely. He seems familiar with the creature, or maybe creatures like it. As he holds the maggot, he listens to what Minx says, before nodding slowly. "I see... I guess..."

Turning his attention back to Ilyndriel, he thinks about the concept of his relationship with Minx, before speaking. "Well... I care for her. Despite our differences. Has to do with that long story..." It was a short explanation, and it didn't cover the meat of [i]how[/i] he grew to care about her, but he hoped the little girl would be able to understand.
