Name: Adeline Tourret ("tour-ray") Appearance: Adeline is a young female of sixteen years. She has shiny black hair and equally dark eyes. Her cute face is peppered with some freckles, but she has a rather sombre expression at all times. She stands around 1.62m tall. Adeline is usually seen wearing dark colored-clothing, and would take just a little make-up and metal accessories to pass as a goth. She takes much care to cover her entire body as her body is disfigured with countless scars. Bio: Born in the wealthy Tourret family, Adeline's life of abundance was to come at a price. She was kidnapped by a criminal organization seeking to blackmail her family. By chance her best friend, Audrey, was also captured, and the two lived through unspeakable torture at the hands of their kidnappers. When the authorities finally located and staged a rescue, they found the criminals fleeing from their hideout. Inside, a grotesque monster straight out of a horrible nightmare was on a rampage. At the sight of the Library's holders, the monster disappeared. Adeline alone was found, severely injured and on the brink of death. The monster turned out to be her spirit, contracted sometime during her kidnapping. She slowly recuperated, but her mind did not. Adeline would not speak of what happened during those few days, and she would start screaming when her spirit tried to talk to her. In fact, she couldn't remember herself, and she thought that she would never want to. Audrey's body was never found either. She took medication to block out her spirit, not wanting to face the horrible creature and its grating voice. As spirits were not known to leave a holder until death, her parents decided to send her to the library when she is older in hopes of learning a way to control the beast. Sent out on dangerous missions, Adeline had to rely upon Sonneillon's strength to survive. Soon her spirit no longer reminded her only of her nightmares- it was also her comrade she owed her life to, and that changed her attitude towards it significantly. Sonneillon turned out to be extremely protective of her, and would even turn on other holders should they touch Adeline without her express permission. Branch: Research Holder: Knight Spirit: Sonneillon, of hatred and suffering. The spirit is hard to describe, as it is a bizarre combination of sinister objects and pulsating black flesh. Thick coils of spiked steel chains cover most of its body, ending in vicious hooks, and blood visibly trickles off the rusted spikes. Beneath the spikes are just pitch darkness that no light would ever illuminate. Sonneillon stands on two legs with no other appendages, and is quite burly in build. Chained to its back is what appears to be an iron maiden that shines brightly. Sonneillon speaks in a deep resonating tone that seems to pierce into her mind. Weapons/Spells: • Black Sphere Sonneillon conjures a pitch black orb above himself, and uses it to control gravity in a localized area. Controls gravity up to a factor of (SPI + POW*0.5) in a 1 meter radius; enlarging the area of effect will decrease the power of the spell. Active: Orb of Annihilation Sonneillon conjures a supercharged black orb and throws it directly. The swirling black orb destroys all matter that enter its event horizon. Power of this attack is determined by (POW+SPI)*1.2. Diameter of (POW+SPI)*0.5 meters. Cooldown: 10 • Chains of Remorse The spiked chains on Sonneillon's body functions as an extremely tough armor. It can be extended to attack, but removes its protection of Sonneillon's main body. Ability power determined by POW; accuracy of control determined by SPI. Range of (SPI) meters. Active: Inescapable Guilt Sonneillon fires a single chain ending in a hook from its maw, to catch fleeing or ranged targets. The speed of this attack makes it extremely difficult to evade. Range of (SPI + POW + 10) meters. Cooldown: 2 • Bloody Maiden Black tendrils explode from the side of its body, forming a pair of makeshift arms; Sonneillon then wields its heavy iron maiden like a weapon. Each swing is slow but hits like a truck. Active: Death Sentence Sonneillon opens the iron maiden, and black tendrils burst out of its insides to search of prey. Any unlucky person to be dragged inside is never heard of again. Limited reach (3 meters), but will instantly kill the target if it has less than half of Sonneillon's POW. Moderately injured enemies are treated as if they have 75% of their POW, and severely injured enemies 50%. Otherwise, their mind is heavily damaged by the horrific ordeal but they manage to escape the tendrils. Cooldown: 4 Stats: POW 13 SPI 6 AGI 4 Skill points: 17/17

Name: Ling En / Vologhn Bio: Ling En was an orphan raised by an organization affiliated with the Library. Children with suitable characteristics were selected and sent to the Library to become artificial spirit holders. At the age of six, Vologhn was sent to the Library laboratories to augment his natural mana flow. The procedure was successful. Within a few weeks, a spirit presented itself to the young boy, but something went horribly wrong. As soon as the spirit settled within his mind, Ling En ceased to exist, leaving the spirit Vologhn in sole possession of the body. She was equally perplexed by the turn of events, but none of the investigations have turned up any answers. Trapped within the body of a human, the spirit had no choice but to adapt to her new life. Her extensive knowledge of mana proved to be a valuable asset to the library, and she has hence joined the research branch. Vologhn still goes by the official name of Ling En, although closer acquaintances prefer to call her by her real name. Vologhn is very intelligent, a genius in the field of applied mana manipulation. Her superior intelligence is even more jarring when she inhabited the young body of Ling En. She comes off as cold and arrogant to most people, for she has little patience to explain matters that are so simple to herself. Vologhn devotes much of her time within the Research department, carrying out various experiments that advance the fundamental understanding of mana. Despite being a spirit, Vologhn conducts herself in a manner that would not raise any suspicions of her true nature. Her emotions and expressions are surprisingly human, possibly a result of the physical body affecting the mind. At times Vologhn still comes off as eccentric. Her ultimate goal is to revive En's mind through her research, as she considers his disappearance her fault. Vologhn is rarely sent out on missions unless there are no other available personnel to handle an urgent request. His time interacting with other holders in the mercenary department has slowly began to change him. Appearance: A young man of Chinese descent. En has a head of curly black hair that almost touches his shoulders. He is often mistaken for a female at a glance, due to his slim build and feminine facial features. His eyes are black, or so dark that they appear so. He is of average height, approximately 174cm tall. En looks rather frail, a result of his less active lifestyle. Branch: Research Holder: Bishop Spirit: Vologhn, the Spider of Knowledge. Vologhn is an ancient creature from eons past, awakening from her slumber to the call of her holder. She has been growing increasingly competent at controlling her new body ever since her arrival. Her original form comprises of the upper body of a human female, connected to the abdomen of a spider. Intricate white patterns cover the back of her body, changing into black tattoos as they reach her human skin. She has four pairs of eyes, all of them a brilliant green. Weapons/Spells: Vologhn's abilities revolve around her ability to manipulate fine strands of mana, weaving them into various forms. Spectral Weave Vologhn spreads out intangible magical threads that are invisible to the naked eye, automatically binding themselves into an intricate web across a wide area. She is able to sense any minute movements within the web, and can use the threads to assist her movements, gaining a bonus to her agility and allows her to move in thin air. Only Vologhn is able to touch the web. [Vologhn can use the web as a foothold to move three-dimensionally, as well as augmenting her speed by (SPI*0.3)] [Web size affected by SPI levels; radius and height is (SPI*1) meters. Shape can be changed to suit needs, but generally will be a vague circular area. Multiple uses can allow her to blanket a sizable area with Spectral Webs.] Active: Spectral Materialization Vologhn shifts the frequency of the Spectral Webs, causing it to affect the real world. The web now ensnares all that touch its threads, binding to surfaces like super-glue, and has a strength equal to (SPI*1.2). Even Vologhn is affected by this effect, but his spider constructs are not. Cooldown: 6 Silken Weave Vologhn weaves solid threads out of mana. These threads are extremely resilient and can be used to protect an ally or bind an enemy. When in contact with another being, Vologhn can use the threads to transfer or drain SPI. [The Silken Weave is relatively tough, providing a temporary shield. A trapped target will be similarly unable to open the bindings unless sufficient force is applied. The strength of the threads are determined entirely by her SPI. The range of this spell is equal to SPI*1 meters.] [Vologh is able to steal [Target's SPI*0.3] and add it to her SPI, or give [SPI*0.3] to another person temporarily.] Active: Mithril Fibre Vologhn weaves several threads of extreme magical density that boosts their durability by ten-fold, allowing a handful to hold up weights of up to (SPI*50) kilograms before ripping, and has a strength equal to (SPI*2). Through these threads Vologhn may change the composition of energy to heal, allowing her to use stolen or transferred SPI to mend wounds instead. Cooldown: 4 Swarm Weave Vologhn creates several magical constructs in the form of spiders. She can concentrate her effort on creating one large spider that is as large as a horse or a dozen spiders the size of dogs. These glowing silver-white spiders can climb across the Spectral Webs woven by Vologhn, and attack enemies by sapping their energy through physical contact. When a spider is filled with energy, Vologhn may command them to transfer the stored energy into a person, boosting their physical abilities. [AGI stolen per spider amounts to Vologhn's (SPI*0.5/number of spiders). The Spiders simply dissolve into pulses of pure energy that quickly flows through the Spectral Web to reach whatever target Vologhn intends to transfer the energy to.] [Spider's stats: STR = (SPI/number of spiders), SPI = (SPI*1.5/number of spiders), AGI = Vologhn's AGI.] [Weaving Spiders take time equal to (16-AGI) seconds, with a minimum limit of 5 seconds. Spiders last for up to ten minutes, but the concentration required to control them limits her from summoning more.] Active: Spontaneous Arachnoplosion Vologhn destabilizes the structure of a spider construct, causing it to detonate with force equal to her SPI. If the spider has stolen energy, deals (SPI + stolen AGI) damage instead. Small spiders explode with an effective blast range of 3 meters, while large spiders explode with an effective blast range of 12 meters. Cooldown: 4 Stats: POW 1 SPI 21 AGI 1 Skills Points: 17/17 *EXTRA: To other players, please use the male pronoun when referring to Ling En / Vologhn. If this is your first meeting with him, please use his official name of En (first name). If you are in the research branch, you may choose to know his real name, thus calling him Vologhn. He doesn't really care either way.
