I think the main reason people are confused is because I use more exclamation marks and emojis than a teenage tumblr girl on acid! It's pretty handy emulating female messages online because I play a lotta games and your teammates are typically a great deal more willing to help you if they think you're female!

That could be it. I have been told I have a feminine persona online. Then again, like you, I overuse emoji's, and have the tendency to get emotional at times. Though, blame my mind still being stuck in high school. >.>
