Name/Nickname: Orion Armstrong Race: Faunus Gender: Male Age: 18 Weapons/Equipment/Armour: Epsilon Delta- Orion’s weapon of choice is a Polearm. The blade is designed first and foremost to compliment the wielder’s considerable strength: giving thrusting and slicing outlets for the tremendous force that Orion can call to muster with his natural might and his soul-augmented semblance. Epsilon Delta is primarily a Melee weapon. It's versatility allows for slashing and thrusting attacks to be combed together, as well as providing good reach. The weapon acts as the ideal outlet for Orion’s considerable strength, as Orion can abuse the reach of the weapon in order to crush his foes under a rain of steel and pain from a relatively safe distance. Epsilon Delta has a ranged function: as he can transform the weapon into a repeater rifle. The weapon lacks any rapid fire functionality, and it’s power is sub-par in comparison to the power Orion can get from his Polearm. Zeta Bracers –A pair of bracers designed to inhibit his otherwise uncontrolled Semblance. Armour – Most of the time, Orion wears light metal armour over his normal clothing. He is more focused on staying light and being ready to strike in melee combat. Semblance: Hunter’s Might – Orion’s Semblance is rather simplistic in that it is a raw boost of physical might. Orion’s aura allows him to give an explosive boost to his muscle’s power output tenfold. Orion’s Semblance is rather fitting because it allows him to augment his already superb physical strength into something truly incredible. The catch is that Orion cannot control his Semblance without the use of his Zeta Bracers, a gift from his adopted mother. With them, Orion can limit his strength: without them, Orion could accidently cause a great deal of harm. Hobbies: Orion’s main love is drawing. He is a generally solitary individual, but he loves to draw things in his down time. Orion spends a lot of time sleeping or relaxing, and although not a hobby, Orion has a noted sweet-tooth, and has developed some considerable skills in cooking and baking. He takes great pride in his cookies. Bio: An Ursine Faunus, Orion never knew his parents and it is assumed they are dead due to the circumstances of how Orion met his adoptive mother and gained his name. Orion was found alongside an abandoned caravan inside a Grimm infested forest. The caravan was devoid of bodies and the babe that would become Orion was left to fend for itself in the forest. He would have died that day, were it not for the intervention of a Huntress. The Huntress slew the Grimm and found Orion alone, cold and not even a month of age. Even from his tiny age, the second pair of ears atop his head gave him away as a Faunus: yet the Huntress took him in anyway. Without a family of his own, the Faunus cub was adopted by the Huntress and given the name ‘Orion.’ The woman cared for Orion and taught him a great deal of things: yet the boy was not oblivious to his heritage and thus, knew that the woman who cared for him and who he cared for deeply was not his mother. It left sadness in his heart that he never got to know his parents; one that remains unfilled to this day. Soon enough, Orion’s incredible Semblance came to the fore, and it became rapidly clear that Orion would likely live up to his namesake. At first, his Semblance was useful and reasonably controllable: yet one incident at a Signal academy led many to discriminate against him as a ‘monster’ due to his Semblance enhanced strength and his obvious Faunus appearance. Despite the prejudice, Orion shrugged it off and graduated highly in the Signal academy. His grades were good, his weapon crafting was fantastic and his actual combat scores were top of the class. He was quickly offered a place in Beacon, yet he asked for a year’s leave of absence. When questioned by his adoptive mother: he said he wanted to go travelling. She agreed reluctantly, and Orion fell off the radar for a year. Many crazy happenstances occurred in his year out of education. Most of them were personal developments, but none topped the attack on Beacon. Orion reapplied for a place at the shaken Beacon, and was accepted into it: fully aware that he was in for a hell of an education. Oddly enough, Orion rarely speaks of his actions in the year off: even his adoptive mother remaining in the dark about it. Personality: Orion is a generally introverted man, in that he would rather spend time with his pencils and paper than striking up conversations with strangers. He can appear to be fierce and difficult to approach, due to his impressive physicality and near-constant scowl, yet the truth is that Orion is nothing more than a friendly individual with a bit of a smart-ass attitude and no patience for people that he thinks are rude. Orion rarely attempts to make friends, but those he does make are deeply precious to him. When he is in a social mood, Orion will often offer whatever sweet food he has on his person: be they sweets, chocolate or cookies. The quickest way into Orion’s good books is through his stomach, as his sweet-tooth is easy to manipulate. Orion has very little patience for people he thinks are rude, cruel or unjust. He was known in Signal for being an unflinching defender of the bullied: and has gone into fights five against one to protect people. Appearance: Orion is an extraordinarily large man. Standing at just under Seven feet tall: Orion has groaned more than once at the joke of being ‘a bear of a man.’ Orion has a well-defined physical form: with a strong jawline, brown stubble that matches the colour of his rough mane of hair, and powerful muscles. Orion’s eyes are a deep emerald green colour and are one of his most defining facial features. His nose is normal size with a slightly pronounced bridge, and his human ears are small. Orion has a number of Faunus features, all of them Ursine in origin. The most prominent is a pair of rounded bear ears that sit at the top his head. These ears are generally hidden by a hat of some sort, generally his favourite orange beanie hat. Other Ursine features include his abnormal size and strength, a small bear tail that he keeps hidden in clothing, and sharp ursine fangs that only really become obvious when he smiles. Orion doesn’t hide his features religiously, but nor does he make a show of them; they are simply there. Orion generally wears a loose top and a pair of comfortable jeans, covered by the plates of armour that many a male Hunter would wear. He focuses less on style and more on comfort and ease of movement. Post Sample: Two sounds filled Orion’s room: the sound of a pencil gliding gently against the taught paper, and the sound of slow, savouring, crunchy chewing. The hunter-in-training was, as per normal, doing his own thing: that being a day of drawing and eating things that were far too sweet for his own good. Today, Orion’s food of choice seemed to be an apple; juicy and crispy and noisy as all heck. If he was in a private place, the noise of the Ursine’s slow mastication would probably be distracting; but in the public space of one of Beacon’s many gardens? His noise was nothing compared to the noise of the world. Orion felt certain calm as he simply drew whatever came to his mind. He’d already doodled four drawings in the space of a dozen minutes. Nothing special, of course: a caricature of a teacher, ridiculous and unrealistic; a bright landscape with a single tree, almost obscured by the sun; another person, this time a Faunus with bunny ears, less of a caricature now and more of a flash-portrait… Then there was the picture he’d just imagined up: A forest full of Grimm, surrounding the broken shards of a carriage, preparing to strike some poor, unsuspecting creature down. The soulless beasts prepared to strike: and a single figure standing in the centre of the picture. It was clear who this person was: the hero, the protagonist, the trustworthy one, the individual who wouldn’t abandon a child. The Hunter. Orion looked up from the sketch, hearing some strange commotion. The Faunus he’d drawn before was being surrounded by three humans. One flicked at her ears, much to the poor girl’s discomfort. It was clear what was going on, Orion had witnessed it far too much in his short lifetime. He looked down at the picture: at the hero whose back looked so big and dependable. Orion clicked his knuckles against his palm as he walked towards the assailants. Time for the Hunter-in-training to play the Hero.
