Considering how he is in his current state, what with his old love believed dead as well as the rest of his old team and a member of his new team, I imagine Robert's response would be like this:

Robert's smile slowly began to fade as [insert name] made their profession of love. It lasted only for a moment, but anyone paying attention enough would see that he was less than thrilled about this. "I, uh... Are you sure that you like me? I mean I like you too, but I mean... Liking me hasn't really proven itself to be very good for your health."
