I'll make it so that the elf is decapitated until Tugrok comes in and sees it. Going to say that the guys followed the saucer in and Tugrok somehow heals Stride with the magical paladin inside him.

For right now, I will say that Stride is still alive, but for a very small amount of time, with the power of his soul or something in the saucer, acting as a head until Tugrok somehow makes Stride the Pumpkin Lich he is destined to be.
