To any other ear except those trained to the whirring of machinery and the buzzing of electricity. Taka leaned back in a moderately comfortable chair, letting out a reflective sigh. Her desk sat before her, cluttered with heaps of scrap and electronics. In the middle of the chaos she had a small, clear space, and the pulled apart skeleton of one of her grenades. She had no particular goal in mind when she started, but it was a way to help her think, to keep her hands moving. The earlier visit from Max had brought up an intense fluctuation of emotions, many of which were not things she wanted to remember. So, she sat there, staring at her work, and tapping her fingers on the arms of her chair as she got lost in the inner workings of her own thoughts. It was still quite early, but she was used to the lack of sleep. Sleep usually was not a pleasant experience for her, and she almost always woke up prematurely anyways. She sighed once more, leaning back towards her improvised workbench. She snatched up a soldering pen and a pair of tweezers. For just a second her gaze paused on her goggles. The gear held no real meaning to her, but there's where her eyes landed. In the dimness she could see perfectly, yet a chill went down her spine. She whipped her head around breathlessly, to the point where her chair spun and crashed into the table. Parts went flying, causing a cacophony of metal screeches as her materials toppled over. A breath escaped her lips, forming into a chuckle halfway through. She was greeted by nothing but the ghosts of her imagination. A frown formed on her face as she looked over the mess her antics had created. Deciding she didn't want to deal with it, she figured it was about time to do something else. She opened the small wardrobe next to her bed, browsing through an assortment of clothes that seemed like an attempt to be tuned to her personal tastes. Well, it wasn't so bad. She just about ready to head to the showers with her backpack swung loosely over one shoulder, and her gathered supplies of bathroom necessities when- "Alert, the Gladius has arrived at its destination, the planet Glacies in the Zeta Orionis system. Please report to the bridge for debriefing." "Alert, that was rude!" Taka replied back to the electronic voice, blowing out an angry puff of air with a pout that scattered her bangs. She turned back around dramatically, throwing her arms open and releasing the items clutched between her arms forcefully onto her bed, "I liaus lloa a' oanno oa sha'llom," She muttered, stalking barefoot from her room towards the elevators. Callum greeted her, and the others, with a brief overview of what they were expected to do. "Oooh, Spooky! Sounds like fun!" Taka piped up, "I just gotta go find my super suit."
