With it's famous sandwiches, people keep on coming back for them. Coca Cola was also a popular choice for many customers especially children. The original owner disappeared a few weeks ago and the line cook took control of the Retro Diner. Many wondered where the original owner was, but a few didn't bother to ask. He didn't have any family living in the city besides a sister that hated his guts. The line cook's name was Sebastiano Benedetti, a beloved worker to many of the regular customers. He was busy most of the time in the basement, but he made sure that he spent his time on the ground floor as well. Many customers of the restaurant knew that he wasn't just the line cook, but a bartender. Below the restaurant was a basement, where many of the regular customers would go for a quick drink. After the Prohibition began, many bars quickly shut down due to the lack of business. The Retro Diner started to serve alcohol beverages a few weeks after it was in effect in the basement. The original got the drinks for a couple of bar owners that still had their drinks and hid them in the basement. After the owner 'disappeared', Benedetti took control of the restaurant and bar. Business was doing well as people from all over the city came to The Retro Diner aka The Retro Spot. However, the bar was running out of beverages. He needed the drinks to keep flowing into the restaurant and for the cops to stay away from this restaurant. The only opinion was to go into business with the criminal enterprises. The original owner didn't like that at all, but Benedetti knew that they had to in order to keep the restaurant running. Benedetti was in the basement as he was making drinks for some of the customers as one of his workers came down to talk to him about 'business'. He asked another bartender to cover him for a few minutes as he went back to the ground level and gone outside. The worker offered him a cigarette, but he turns it down. “What's going on?” he asked the worker. “Do you have someone that could help us?” he told Benedetti as he lit his cigarette with a lighter. “Yeah, I was thinking of asking The Scarpello Family.” he answered the questions as he looked at the dirty ground. The worker blew a smoke and looked at him. “They are our only solution to our upcoming problem.” he told Benedetti his honest opinion as he dropped his cigarette and crushed it, “We just need to be careful that we don't fuck with them. They believe in old world values.” The worker went back inside to go back to work, leaving behind Benedetti to think about his decision. He also went back to work down in the basement. He still severed the drinks to customers as it lasted for eight hours before midnight. Most of the people had left behind as he told the remaining customers to go back to their homes. He and the other bartenders cleared up the place before leaving the place. Benedetti was the last person to leave the restaurant as he made sure that the doors were locked and the lights were off. He headed home by taking a cab to his apartment. It was his brother's before he died. His brother was one of the closest friends that he ever had before he ran away. His parents drove him crazy and he couldn't take it anymore. Benedetti didn't understand that until he got older and they learned that his brother was dying. They didn't care about him as they went back into their lives. And when Benedetti was planning to go to New York City, his parents refused to see and disowned him. That was the breaking point for him. He wanted to live with his brother in New York City and he did that until he died. He entered the apartment room and went straight to bed as he wanted to sleep until he went back to work. The city never sleeps as some of the lights for the nearby apartments were on and cars drove on the street once in a while. He had got used to the noises of the city life. Before, he hated them and it kept him up in the night times. Since the years that he has spent in the city, he has got used it and slept fine throughout the nighttime. Then, he would get up and get dressed for work. That's what he did every day for a few years. He loved his job.
