- Lukas Kunze -
As soon as he heard that little tidbit, Lukas couldn't help but eye Lyssa somewhat warily. One, it just sounded out of place that she would refer to herself as a human versus commoner... and to top it off, the horns were a huge red beacon that made it to be something rather amiss... Secondly, the fact that she is confident enough to pay for the expenses for the likes of this place! And she claimed to... hrmmm... She may of knew martial arts, but Lukas didn't really find anything off about that; her father must of been a knight of sorts to learn that material and pass it on while on duty or off. But then came the part about the bear that caused him to just plain look at Lyssa. To be quite frank, he couldn't tell whether that earned her more points in beauty in his book or just raised his levels of skepticism. Lukas couldn't help but tap the side of his face as he rested his chin within the palm of his hand. There were so many outstanding things about her that made those lies fall apart... but if she had a secret, then she was somewhat similar to him in that subject. So Lukas decided to refrain from prodding her further... though, he did feel the need to give her some advice; those embellishments were less than... stellar. Of course, then the lovely lass chimed in, exclaiming that it was his turn. "Huh?" Jolted back to reality, Lukas briskly moved his head up, staring at lady lip lock with some surprise. Next thing he knew, the knightess jumped in on this subject too, causing him to glance at the duo. "A story, huh," he grumbled, trying to dig up some memories he could modify to appear acceptable to the duos ears. There were tales lined with duels, a few unsuccessful assassination attempts either on him or his parents, and a couple of other... unmentionable and questionable items. However, he found one he could lightly alter. "I have only one anecdote I can weave to you two; apologies for being lacking in the story department." Grinning awkwardly, Lukas sat straightly as the food arrived, tapping his lip and looking around as if where to begin. "So, I come from a... medium-sized village somewhere in Germany. Merchants son, though nothing special really happened in my area, save for paying tribute to a large gang of bandits in the vicinity; damned lazy cur," he let out a small hmph at the end of it, giving a small frown as he shook his head. "If we didn't pay em', they made the threats of burning our crops, picking us to the bone figuratively, etc. Some people tried to handle them once, but it ended up with most of their eyes gouged out, missing limbs, and just... nightmarish disfigurements..." Lukas shivered, pretending he knew what he saw when in reality, he only got these from recounts. "Of course, they got a little to greedy and lied about their agreement, robbing my pa and ma's shop." Lukas paused, staring down at the floor, acting downtrodden and beaten. "They were despondent and more than likely our family would of been reduced to mere paupers if I didn't risk it with my friend." He blinked for a moment, pausing before continuing on. "I decided I had enough of their immoral ways and recruited a friend who had an aim that could best any bowman and an arm that could snap a sword in half; she was pretty good at it, despite working as a server at the tavern." Lukas smiled a little, appearing to reminisce over the times he spent with her, putting a hand to his chin before clearing his throat. "Anyways, after I announced to her my plan, I... borrowed a sword from the smithy before we went out bandit hunting. Once we found them, we overwhelmed them with guile versus brute force; I distracted them, my friend crippled them stealthily, and I usually finished them off... this was also the time when I discovered I could use magic... and in the process, almost got my head chopped off. Long story short, I sustained myriads of injuries, but with some luck, managed to stay alive. My friend was alive and well, and we managed to return most of the items taken from the shop." Clasping his hands together, he gave Lyssa and Luna a small smile, denoting that as the conclusion of his tale. Sure there were some holes here and there, but he could probably brush over them... "On the plus side, I managed to keep the sword I took and garnered a second one for free, courtesy of the blacksmith... sadly, I honestly don't know how to use one properly, other than swinging it around blindly... so yeah."
