He felt an intense pain in his chest just hearing her in such pain, a deep regret threatened to wash over him, had he somehow made it worse carrying her down the building? Should they just not have come into the UN that day? He forced such thoughts out of her mind, focusing on her and refusing to step away, though making sure the paramedics could do what they could for her. He shuddered as he saw the wound in her back, the blood soaking her as he stood there, struggling not to let tears run free as he watched. The words from the doctor as she examined Risa did not help, but Lucas forced himself to drown them out, to ignore what she was saying and focus on Risa, he didn't want to consider any of the worse possibilities, however likely they may have been. He wanted to be thinking of Risa's recovery, safe, alive. As she screamed again, Lucas shivered, it truly hurt to hear her in such pain, to see her in shock and to feel like just somehow it was his fault, even though there was no possible way it could have been. A new anger for those responsible threatened to surge within him, but he suppressed it, he did not want to focus on anything but her. He kept his gaze on Risa as they began to move her toward the ambulance, only looking away as Amy took his attention and he focused on her, listening to her. He was in shock himself, and he couldn't even think to summon a reply. Simply nodding, he hurried along to the ambulance with them and climbed into the back beside Risa, watching as they closed the door before turning his gaze back to Risa. He nodded his head to Amy's question, reaching out to gently take Risa's hand. "She's B positive, i'm an O negative so, I can donate if you need it." He assured Amy without looking over at her, as he watched Risa, he let his hand shift down into his pocket. Pulling out the small box he'd been carrying with him, he sighed as he opened the lid, looking down at the ring inside. Still holding her hand, he pulled the ring out and carefully slid it onto her finger. He'd waited long enough, carried the ring with him for far too long and he didn't want it to be too late. If she made it through all of this he wanted the ring to be the first thing she saw, and in the horrible event that she didn't... He at least needed her to have it. Letting out a shaky sigh, he ran his thumb over the diamond of the ring, eyes shifting back up to Risa's face.
