[@Vec] The Other is Jvan and Vowzra's contribution to the Codex. Jvan made unusual life flourish in the pockets of blankness overlooked in the Codex on turn one, and Vowzra contaminated that ecosystem with creatures (possibly sentient?) from the Hells of Time to produce a powerful and aggressive hybrid fauna.

Backstory aside though yeah that sounds about right.
