An attack like that with the way that I play my character takes at the very least five turns of prep and a fairly long setup post before it can be used and the last time I had to use it to kill an opponent I had to literally hold him in a bear hug after the fifth post. I do not ever seek to simply out power my opponent through the use of my abilities. I much prefer to beat my opponent through skill and strength of arms as I find that to be a much more honorable victory then just farting lightning at someone.

Sounds good. You mention editing the character sheet with stuff so it's a good idea, if you haven't already, to include such restrictions within the sheet so we have a better understanding of his limitation and he'd be far more likely to be allowed into official stuff like tournaments if there's ever a really high power tournament going on. I also don't know the range of his lightning and might assume it's as far as he can visualize the lightning going but it's possible you have made up some other range limit.
