They often have some form of earth/stone-related magic that lets them communicate with the earth itself and keep an eye on things below the surface, allowing them to predict any unusual shifts and act accordingly. Until recently, that is. ~ MagCasts—Earth has its news stations, and Htrea has its magCasts. These air all over the world, in various languages, and are all accessible in translated editions. The magCasts use the flow of magic through the world to air. However, unlike television, magCasts are used for news and only news. ~ Magicaster—In Earth terms, you’d probably call them witches or wizards, or something of the like. They are people who can access the flow of magic enough to cast various spells. Often specializing in a particular set of magic skills, magicasters can technically be any race, but mostly consist of humans, and it is a skill passed on through generations with only a few exceptions. ~ Skykeepers—Hetrea’s weather forecasters. Only they’re usually more reliable than Earth’s weathermen. Those who make up the Skykeepers consist of various magicasters and races who work together to watch the skies and predict the weather in certain areas, and get the predictions out via local magCasts.
