The first reason she had moved was because of her brother's accident. That had been a while ago. Her entire family and picked up and moved to follow her brother to the top hospital that could treat his injuries. But she was twenty now. She could fly free without the weight of past accidents weighing her down. It made her lucky, compared to her parents. Too bad most of the day had been spent unpacking boxes. Again. Her arms were aching from lifting boxes and her hands aching from small cuts that were trying to heal themselves. Laying in her bed, she looked out through the window. It was night time. With a small sigh, her fire-red halo of hair snuggled deeper into her pillow. The moonlight had an almost dreamy effect in her bright colored room, filtering through those lacy curtains. Finally, she stretched in her bed and smiled. Curling her toes and pushing her arms out, it felt great not to have to be anywhere. Rolling onto her side, she ruffled her hair and yawned. and so ended naptime. She had promised to go out tonight to meet old friends from college. Some were going to Lush and other to some little mature bar she hadn't ever heard of. Both were causes for concern since she was one year shy of twenty-one. Pursing her lips, she pinched her cheeks to wake herself up.

Time to get ready.

Lifting herself out of bed, Kaori let her feet dangle over the edge before touching the floor. Standing, she stretched again, looking around her box filled room, the redhead stripped off her clothes. Pulling her tights on, the ones with little white flowers on them, she pulled a cream colored dress on. It was long sleeved and mature, hugging her body like a possessive lover. She wanted her old friends to think of her as a woman now, not just the baby-face innocent they all had enjoyed teasing. Of course, she still had the baby face... Which led her back to her worry of getting caught entering the doors of the mature bar her piano club seniors had all talked about. She supposed she should go there first, then Lush. Calm to quiet and then home again. Seemed simple enough. No reason to worry. R-Right? Going downstairs she picked up her purse and put on her shoes, looking through her phone. Oh, if only she wasn't so nervous! Pursing her lips, she put her pale lipstick on and went outside to meet her taxi. Walking all the way would look immature, wouldn't it? Best take the taxi. It wasn't as if she could afford a car anyway. Not with the medical bills she was still trying to help her parents pay. ............ The taxi pulled up in front of Cornerstone and she paid the driver, getting out slowly, trying to make sure the short dress stayed in its proper place. Perhaps wearing this hadn't been the good idea she had thought it to be. Playing with fake pearls around her neck, she pursed her lips again and looked at the front door. Well, there wasn't any bouncer to worry about. But then again he might have just got on the job, so she'd have to hurry-but-not-look-like-she-was-hurrying through the door. Entering the dimly lit bar, she looked around, her halo of red hair bright about her lily tender face. Her illuminated green eyes searched a bit anxiously as she walked over to an empty table and sat down. Ah, no, most people in movies ordered something from the actual bar first. Right. Just look cool, calm and in control. Kaori stumbled over the leg of a chair and apologized the person sitting in it with a flushed face. Finally, she got over to the bar. "P-Pardon me!" her nervousness made her stammer as the sugar-lace voice tried to get the attention of the bartender, who was chatting contently with a guest, "Excuse me?" She was losing her nerve. Maybe it would have been better to try to find her old friends at Lush and then have gone here with one or two of them. This place made her feel like a child playing grownup...
