I agree with Riv. The original game did have sense to its madness xD Leaving Alexandria so they weren't slaughtered, using the forest to separate side characters from the main crew you were going to spend your journey with, and having them pretty much together and rely on one another(somewhat) all the way to Lindbulm. Could make something up if crashing somewhere else, but Alexandria would probably be the worse for them.

They're tough, but they ain't super xD
