Reaching out, he gently took her hand in his own for a few moments, squeezing it softly. Lucas was thrilled by not just the fact that she had survived and on her way to a recovery, but by her accepting his proposal. It was odd to think of the two of them planning a wedding, he figured he'd honestly just say 'mhm' a whole lot while she came up with most of the ideas. He felt his phone buzz in his pocket, carefully and slowly pulling his hand away from her own as he reached down into it, pulling the phone out and looking over it. As he read through the message his heart sank for a moment. His eyes flicked up from the phone to Risa, thoughts flooding through his mind all at once. The call was wrong, it had to have been, a mistake of some kind regardless of what might have happened. He stared back down at it for a long while, thinking on what to say or do. The grim look on his face was plain to see as he heard her voice, glancing up to her and forcing it to shift into a half-smile. "It's fine, just work." He promised, tucking away the phone into his pocket again, making a mental note to destroy the device later as he reached out and took her hand. He didn't bother to tell her about the message, not yet anyway, she was exhausted and if things went as he hoped they would none of it would be correct anyway, he didn't want to add unnecessary concerns to her already strained recovery.
