[hider=Severed Ties - Poem -] Some bare their hearts for all to see, While others sit and let them be, Most of all have a heart to share, But there are so few that seem to care. Some wear their heart out on their sleeve, But why do you keep trying to leave? You run and run yet always come back, Like your memory of fear response is starting to crack, You heart has never been on display, Some glimpses here and there, but you've never said it's okay, For me to look upon your soul, Since there's something in me black as coal, But even when we're fine and well, There's the constant ringing of a bell, An alarm to warn you I must not be trusted, And all the times I've tried to help, you've busted, But not once in this time have I thought to myself, "With this distance, I might as well, put the way I care on a shelf, Evidently, you don't want to be with me." And so I sit and hope and pray, Wait around for the coming of that day, When finally you'll trust me back, Let me develop that which I lack, Because every time I've tried and failed, The boat of opportunity has never sailed, Away from me, and so I know, To me, your heart, you will show.
