Outspoken, never settling and confrontational towards any who would think to put her into her place. She was ahead of her times but that would not stop her. She is unyielding and does not bend. Quick to take point she can come off as brash and sarcastic, which she is much of the time, but she knows what she is doing and never doubts herself. 

	Underneath it all though she is can be very kind and sympathetic. Introspective she knows the duality of her nature. One half what some would think of as a what a woman should be; refined, loving, nurturing. The other is everything else that she is. Though she does not let this hold her back and her out of the box style of thinking helped her in her era to blend while taking major leaps forward.

	Jo is a woman from a different era, the last generation of stockings and garters; refinement and class, press powdered faces and perfectly quaffed hair. Jo, was not this. At least not all of the time. Growing up she was a tom boy, her fathers pride and joy even though he was never granted a son to carry on the family name. Little did he know she would carry it far longer than any in her family could ever had. 

	Miss Ballard excelled in school, especially in the field of languages and fencing, obtaining a scholarship to Oxford; something nearly unheard of for her gender during that period. Her ability to handle herself both in and out of the classroom garnered the attention of MI during WWII and she was recruited to by an operative. Trained to be deadly, she excelled much further in the arts of killing than she did in the art of seduction. 

	Being a member of MI6, she worked closely with the agents of MI5 and helped with many missions during the tail end of the war and the cold wars that would follow. Spending time under cover in Germany, Italy, Russia and even Korea during the "Military Conflict" which arose there and was even present at the Bandung Conference; MI sending here there because of her fluency in Burmese and her families ties to the country. 

	She was one of the first targeted for Project Destini. During a conflict deep within Russian borders in 1960 she was shot twice in the chest and thought KIA. Destini came and scoped her up. The bullets had missed her heart, piercing her lung instead. After surgery she was kept under until she could be moved to Cryostasis and placed into the tomb where she has slept for the last over 100 years, her mind being bombarded with information over all these years to see if it was truly capable to teach an old dog new tricks.
