Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't like either. Star Wars for the reasons you mentioned above, and Star Trek cause the ascetic is just god awful.. Like, god damn, who would ever think those spaceships are cool?! 

And ultimately I do not really concern myself with once was a nerd turf war, but has since turned into a World War I style battle of attrition between the fans of both series. XD
