Thank you! The first draft in my head was actually Kurama wanting to talk to Genkai in private, while Yusuke teased Botan about how close she seemed to have gotten with Kurama, but I felt as though that was a bit out of character. I'm not sure if he was smarter in later seasons, because I know Yusuke isn't DUMB, but I think something like that was better saved from Shizuru's perspective. Yukina is too sweet and polite to pry in anyone's personal life. I believe Yusuke's little 'hunch' at the table did enough for the both of us, while you yourself had Genkai notice that the air between them was something different from being purely business-related.
