Well, I mean... people could have been afflicted with 'permanent' conditions, going to the house of the Lumieres for treatment. Or maybe Tryll interacted with those who are lower in status than her family. It really is up to the imagination of we writers to come up with scenarios for our characters to meet.

[@FantasyChic] If you have an idea for Tryll and Maxwell's relationship, toss it here. I'm fairly flexible when it comes to... well, most things. I bounce ideas better than I initiate them.
