[color=ed1c24]Parents[/color]: Just a couple of normal, everyday humans. Well, aside from the fact they're total nerds. They aren't even aware of Arachne's powers.

[color=ed1c24]Powers and abilities[/color]: In her civilian form, Arachne doesn't really have much powers beyond what a fairly healthy twenty-year old woman would have. At the very least, she could fend off a mugger or thug with a bit of dirty-fighting and brawling. Most of her powers comes when she dons her mask, a simple white circle with black dots painted on it. It doesn't even need to be a special mask, just anything that looks similar to it. But when Arachne puts on this mask she gains the power of the Black Beast.

The Black Beast is best described as a humanoid blob. Despite it's shape, it lacks any discernible organs or limbs, and even it's mask can be moved anywhere on it's body without revealing it's "face". And thanks to it's amorphous form, physical attacks just go through it's body harmlessly. It's amorphous form also gives the Black Beast limited shapeshifting powers, in the sense that it can reshape it's body into whatever it wants, shrinking or growing as it needs to. The Black Beast is capable of creating bone-like limbs and appendages all over it's body to attack enemies or just interact with things, and these bones could be removed from the Black Beast without doing it much harm. Lastly, the Black Beast is capable of consuming anything with it's body, pulling hazardous materials and even poisons into it, eating it whole, and coming out unscathed. Handy when the Black Beast needs to get rid of bombs, since it can eat the bombs before they explode.

However the Black Beast isn't without it's drawbacks. It's mask is it's weakness: While the rest of the body might be mostly immune to harm, destroy the mask and the Black Beast is gone, leaving only Arachne behind. Not only that but the Black Beast is a separate existence from Arachne. While she needs a mask to call it forth there are times were Arachne would feel an endless hunger. No matter how much she eat she'd never feel full, and that's because the Black Beast is hungry. If he gets too hungry then it would take over Arachne's body and go on an eating frenzy, consuming everything it can get its hands on. And what the Black Beast likes the taste of flesh the most. The only way Arachne can satisfy the Black Beast is by donning the mask and eating while as the Black Beast, usually meat like steaks or hotdogs. Lastly Arachne doesn't have full control over the Black Beast even when she dons her mask. She describes it like horse riding: She tells it where to go and maybe when to do things like jump or watch out, but otherwise it's doing most of the work. She doesn't know how to control it, if she even can, and hopes to learn to control the beast inside of her while at the academy.

[color=ed1c24]Personality[/color]: Arachnhe is a fairly chill person. She rarely panics, and even when she's worried she doesn't get too worked up over it. And while it seems like nothing can surprise her, that's far from the truth. There's still so much about the world she doesn't know and there's nothing she can expect, so she simply wants to make sure she doesn't overreact whenever the world does something weird again. Arachne doesn't really have a sense of justice, thinking that it's a fool's games. It's just something that people tell young, stupid kids so they'd be more willing to burden other people responsibilities. That's not to say that Arachne wouldn't fight when she has too, but she doesn't pretend she's a hero when she does it. If there is anything good to say about Arachne, it's that she cares about her friends and family. While some might call her lazy and apathetic, she's willing to get off her rump and work her butt off to make other people happy. But she's still going to do it at her own pace.

[color=ed1c24]Bio[/color]: Arachne had a fairly normal upbringing. Sure, it had it's own drama and for some it might even be interesting, but it wasn't "unusual". Her parents grew up on comics, manga, anime, and that sort of thing. They also knew a thing or two about old legends and stories, and they thought it'd be funny to name their daughter Arachne, after the mortal woman who challenged a god. And lost, or at least that's now Arachne thought about it. As it turns out, her parents were right about one thing. Arachne would challenge a god, and be punished for her arrogance.

It started a year after Arachne graduated from highschool. She was thinking about going to college, probably in New York, when her friends told her about this "haunted" forest. Apparently in the past it used to have a cult who ate people there before some heroes drove the cult out. It could have been true, though since Arachne never heard anything about the place despite living in the area for 19 years, she figured it was just a hoax. So Arachne joined her friends to camp out in this "haunted" forest. And that night... Something found them. Even now Arachne doesn't know who or what. But in the middle of the night, everyone woke up to a storm brewing. All of Arachne's friends went to their cars and were going to go home, but Arachne chose to stay. Her tend was solid, she figured, and she didn't mind camping in the forest alone. She's done it plenty of times, even if she didn't do it here. But that night, Arachne was approached by some sort of... Thing. It wasn't a monster. It wasn't a person. It was just... Something. It told Arachnhe to leave, but in her foolish youth, she was defiant. She had thought it was just a prank one of her friends were pulling.

She was wrong.

When Arachne woke up she found herself alone in the forest with nothing around her. No camping supplies, no car, not even her cellphone. Her clothes where tattered and dirty. She had no memory of what happened that night. But she did know one thing. She was [i]starving[/i].

What followed was a year of turmoil and confusion for Arachne. She had inadvertently ran away from home as she tried to control this hunger, but nothing she ate satisfied it. Soon she was forcefully turned into the Black Beast and terrorized the countryside until some heroes managed to stop her. However, despite defeating the Black Beast they couldn't get rid of it permanently. It was still inside Arachne, growing in hunger each passing day. There was no cure for what was happening to Arachne; her life was bound to it, just as it was bound to Arachne's. Killing the Black Beast meant killing an innocent girl. So if they couldn't destroy the Black Beast, Arachne had to control it. And thus, Arachne now attends an Academy for those with super powers.
