Location: Shadow Ridge Den Interacting with: N/A
Chinua lifted her head as the watery rays of sunlight began to filter into the den. Her jaws stretching wide in a yawn, she woke to find that her mate, Denali, was no longer sleeping beside her. He had probably woken early again and decided to go off on a border check, she deduced; Denali often did this, it was his own way of clearing his thoughts and coming to terms with their newfound leadership positions. They would often go together, in fact, but with Chinua's belly as swollen with their coming pups as it was, she wasn't confident enough to leave the den until after they had been birthed. The territory could be an awfully dangerous place, and the she-wolf would have never forgiven herself if something terrible had happened and the pups' lives were put at risk. It was safer for her to stay here, she kept telling herself. It wouldn't be long now. Heaving herself back to her paws, Chinua stretched her muscles and padded out into the clearing to soak up the sun, just as pawsteps echoed near the clearing's entrance. Shadow Ridge's alpha female lifted her nose to the air, the scents she drew in told her Denali was returning, with Robyn close behind him. She twitched her ears, and settled down again just outside of the den, waiting for them to return.
