Day 10 - A Song What Makes Me Weep

This is probably cheating but like I can't recall a song by itself that has made me cry like ever. It's always been situational, like hearing Ave Maria at a funeral or the wedding march. And this is no exception. Now it should shock no one that I fuckin love Cloud Atlas, the book and the movie, enough to name myself after a character from it and the movie's soundtrack is amazing. All Boundaries Are Conventions is not the saddest scene in the film, that comes later near the end of the Frobisher story and the Sonmi story. But it is an incredibly moving and emotional moment, a climax before the slide into the general resolution. And there's just something about Sonmi experiencing and understanding love mixed in with the romantic, wistful narration from Frobisher mixed in with other characters having a nice little break in their frantic quests that just brings a few tears to my eyes every time I watch the scene. On its own it's also just a beautiful piece of music, simple in its structure but so powerful all the same. I'm getting a bit misty thinking of it again. So if you'll excuse me, I've got a date with Cloud Atlas
