Name: Kesiniah (kes-in-I-ah) "Kess" Aeros Gender: Female Height: 5'8" Age: 17 Race: Fire Child
Though there exact historical origin is unknown legends say that the Fire Children are descended from a powerful god like being that took human form in order to sire them. The Fire Children worship this spirit as the High Deity they know as Corda. Many of the people of Titan consider this an affront to "The Mother" and believe Corda to be a powerful demon and his children abominations to be destroyed. The Fire Children possibly due to their connection to Corda have one of the strongest magical affinities in the World. Some can have fully developed powers as young as fifteen. The unfortunate downside to this though is that the magic of the Fire Children is very unstable and difficult to fully control. Teenage temper tantrums can easily turn deadly. Because of this the society of the Fire Children have evolved a very disciplined society, order and logical decision making are held so highly that in the adults an outsider might believe they have no emotions at all. As a result of being generally feared and the possibility of their magic getting out of control, travel from the Liorenth Isles is strictly controlled by the ruling party. In the early stages of their adolescence a number of methods are used to contain and suppress magical potential as the Fire Children learn to deal with it. These include specialized tomes and grimoires designed to absorb the power as it is being expelled as well as more drastic methods for those whose powers become thoroughly out of control. In a few rare cases the development of their abilities has led to madness and violent self destruction. The more powerful of the Fire Children develop an interesting skin aberration. There skin hardens and develops a consistency not dissimilar to scales. These areas are almost impossible to damage and on the Liorenth Isles are often displayed as a symbol of status. However on Titan they mark the Fire Children increasing the belief amongst the citizens that they are demons.

What the Fire Children call "The Spirit of Corda" is an ancient entity comprised of pure energy. Centuries previous during a war that destroyed most of its kind the Spirit of critically injured. Happened upon by one of the Fire Children when they were still a fledgling race it offered the Fire Children enormous power in exchange for its own survival. Believing it to be sent by Corda the Fire Child agreed. The Spirit fused with the soul of the Fire Child allowing it to live while granting the Fire Child great power in the form of brilliant blue fire of exceptional strength. The host of the Spirit become known to the rest of the Fire Children as The Emissary. They acted as spiritual advisory and arbiter to the Fire Children in a separate position to the ruling council. They also dealt heavily with the foreign affairs of Liorenth, acting as a spokesperson and diplomat. In times of siege or war they were called on to use the Spirit in defense of the islands. Down through the centuries in each generation one was selected to take on the Spirit at the moment of the previous Emissary's death for if an Emissary was killed without passing on the Spirit it would die with him or her. To this end the existence of the Spirit was hushed up by the rulers of the Fire Children. Over time it faded from living memory remaining only with the Ruling Council and the Emissary themselves. The blue fire was the trademark of the Emissary though how it was transferred remained protected knowledge. Most believed that it was hereditary or that it was a gift given by Corda in a special ceremony. This was done to protect the Spirit from those that would seek to steal or abuse its power or those that would want it destroyed. The legend of its power was almost as effective a deterrent against war as the reality. Only a Fire Child can host the Spirit. Any other being with the possible exception of the Dragonborn would burn up, there bodies unable to handle the raw power of it.
Birth continent: The Liorenth Isles. A number of small islands off the eastern coast of Titan. Description: When using the Spirit of Corda her eyes turn the brilliant blue of her flames. On her forearm three inches towards her elbow is the scale like skin markings that are not uncommon to her people. Personality: Kesiniah has very little real world experience. She's lived her entire life on the islands that make up her home. This makes her rather nervous and shy of other races. She's not reckless but when she becomes excited by something her curious nature often gets the better of her. In public she tries her best to imitate her Father's cool and detached outer appearance believing that will bring her respect and as the future Emissary it is what is expected of her. This is most notelet when she is dealing with strangers. With close friends she lets down her walls showing a rambunctious and slightly devious nature. History/backstory: Kesiniah was the daughter of Alaerth, the Fire Children's current Emissary, She was being groomed to take over her father's position after his death. Because of this as well as her status Kesiniah (or Kess as her friends called her) was given an excellent education concerning many topics ranging from politics and history to strategy in both peace and war. She also received lessons in hand to hand combat though because the society of Liorenth was primarily a magic oriented one these lessons were limited to basic self defense. She has no skill with weaponry beyond common sense. Her education was focused much more on the cerebral as well as disciplinary lessons meant to teach her control over her magic. Following a diplomatic mission to Titan's capitol which Alaerth brought Kesiniah on to show her the ways of other cultures their ship was attacked. A stray bolt of magic from one of the bandits spellcasters struck Alaerth seriously wounding him. In an act of desperation born of the desire to make sure the Spirit did not die with him Alaerth gave his daughter a tome called Arma Infirnum (loosely translated means "Armaments of the Flame"). It was a special grimoire bound in a long past age to help contain the power of the Spirit of Corda as even the Fire Children sometimes had trouble controlling its power. Then he perform a crude version of the Rite of Transference passing the Spirit on to Kesiniah before he died. The violent explosion of magic from the rite ripped apart both the ship Kess was on and the two that had attacked leaving her floating amongst the wreckage. She would eventually drift to the shore of a most inhospitable island with nothing but the clothes on her back and her father's grimoire clutched to her breast.. Notes: Without the years of training Kesiniah should have gotten prior to the Rite of Transference giving her the Spirit her ability to control its power is questionable at best. Though it is very powerful her skill with it is such that she can only make use of a fraction of its power without killing herself or those around her. Even that could be potentially dangerous. The power is tied to her emotions and though the book helps to contain the blue fire it cannot do a perfect job of it. The Arma Infirnum tome as well as helping to contain the Spirit of Corda's powers also has a record of all those that have hosted it before Kesiniah.
