"It's fine, I guess," Riddley said to Jacob, watching the strange pair walk away. Jacob had been the lesser of the three problems in her eyes, but she suddenly felt exhausted. It was too early in the morning to deal with drama like this and she was hoping day one would be a lot more lax. "Oh well," she mused aloud. Then she turned to follow Jacob toward the building, her blue eyes flickering about. Her steps were lazy but her movements a little jittery, as if relaxed but alert.
Candy, however, had been instead throughout the ordeal. Her flock was still gathered around her locker and would be for minutes after the bell rang. She was indulging the girls in petty gossip and fashion advice, but--in all honesty--she felt herself growing exhausted. Maybe this body was a mistake, she thought, resisting to roll her eyes as Karen spouted off some nonsense about pastels in the fall being completely unnacceptable. Sure, this body has a direct line into the student population, blatant power over most of it, and it's sexy as hell, her thoughts continued, But I really don't care, Karen. Admittedly the following stunt was unnecessary and badly timed as students were starting to pour into the school. The locker beside Karen suddenly blew open, the door smacking the poor girl in the face. The surprised prep fell back on her ass, crying in pain and surprise. Candy had to refrain from busting out laughing and the rest of the flock waited for her to look concerned before tending to poor Karen. "Oh my gosh, that was weird, are you okay?"
