Lunalel & Swen
The magierprinz found himself at a small resturant, not nearly as exquisite as the one he had gone on a date with his bride to, but something appropriate for lunch? Of course. Gwynn had been upset recently, so he was thinking about how best to aid her. The tavern was largely empty, and the silence aided his thoughts. He raised his eyebrows as a blonde haired girl entered the tavern. It took a few seconds, but the prince recognized the plate she wore and the seal upon it: she was clearly from the Lightsword house, and if he remembered correctly they were high ranking Paladins for the Norman Throne. The prince waved his hand weakly as she entered the tavern, not sure what to expect. Luna was traveling town to find places to eat, and ranking places she wanted to return to which, in a town like this, had plenty of places to visit. As she entered a certain tavern however, she noticed a boy specifically waved at her. If, to be honest, she knew him she certainly didn't recognize him. Not to insult him, Lunalel walked over to the boy and started up dialogue. "Greetings. Forgive my manners, but do I happen to know you? I don't seem to recall your face." The Prince shook his head after a moment, blushing slightly. He pointed towards her emblem. "I do not know you, but I know the signs of a Lightsword when I see one. I am Magierprinz Swen Runvall de Zaberbuch, but that is rather long. Just call me Swen." The hand pointing at her extended itself out for a friendly handshake. Luna's eyes widened slightly as she realized just who this person was. A rather Royal being. He seemed to act rather friendly, so it seemed that she could merely act with the same amount of respect she typically did. "Greetings then Swen Runvall de Zeberbuch. My name is Lunalel Lightsword of the Lightsword house. It is a pleasure to meet you." She took a seat at his table, assuming he seemed fine with it. "Searching for your mid-day meal as well?" The Prince nodded, pulling a book out of his pocket. "Well, and looking for the alure of knowledge. This academy is good for that." He sighed after a few seconds, unsure about what to say. Of course. Academics. They could talk about that. "Mind if I simply call you Lunalel? Is this your first year here? Englands pretty far away for you." "Feel free to call me Luna if you so desire. Most everyone seems to call me that." Lunalel said with a smile, "Yes, it's my first year. I seem to be a bit older than most as well, but that's just how it is. With magic anymore, traveling isn't so hard on one or two people." She wasn't too sure what else to say on that topic. "I'm glad to be here learning though. It will help me when I take over my house." The prince smiled, nodding as she responded. "Luna, I'm sure you'll find your time in this academy useful then ... I've been here for three years, although this may be the end of it ..." The prince looked saddened as he thought for a few moments about how he was probably going to get expelled. Their meeting with Livia was coming up ... and ... he wasn't confident in the outcome. "You might be a little older, but I'm sure you are still making good friends?" Luna thought on her friends so far. There was Lyssa and Lukas. Fia counted in a way. If teachers counted then Livia and Katherine counted. "I suppose so. Mostly younger than me though. Heheh." She couldn't help but chuckle, thinking about she was older than the others in her own "year". "Anyhow, why would this be the end of your time here?" The prince gave off an awkward smile, before responding after a few seconds. "Well you see, there was some knowledge I wanted. And well ... the restricted section of the library was too tempting." The young man took a swing of his drink, hoping it would satisfy him slightly. It wasn't anything heavy, so he wasn't worried about simple inebriation. "Ehhhh? To be fair, the restricted section is restricted. Still, if I assume you tried going at it, I can't imagine expulsion just like that." Luna said whilst looking for someone to serve her something. She was a bit hungry. "Well, if I can be of some help, tell me and I will attempt so." She said before catching someone to take her order for some cooked meat and a light drink. The magierprinz. "Unless you are familiar enough with the headmistress on my behalf, I don't think there is anything that you can do regaurding that." After a few seconds, the Prince looked up towards the Lightsword. The man had given a response to Gwynn that he felt was well worded, but perhaps another perspective would expand his pool of knowledge on the matter. "The Lightsword family has familiars, yes? I always wondered what you thought about them." Although he tried to hide it, the man leaned forward in anticipation as he waited for an answer. It was rather obvious this was not simply an idle question. "Familiars? To be honest, I'm one of the few in my family line to have really ever used magic in any capacity, so familiars are as foreign to me as stories I've heard of the Far East." Lunalel explained. All of it truth after all. Luna was really curious as to what Swen was wanting. "That said, I'm not too sure about it. I met this girl with a cute little cat familiar that treated the familiar. . . Poorly isn't the right word. As a servant, but attempted to escape from said servant?" Luna was trying to think about describing it better, but that really seemed the best way from what she had seen. "Regardless, if I had a familiar I could see myself treating it a few ways. If it were a human-like one, probably like a close friend or a sibling if they were unopposed. If it were more animal like, perhaps like a pet?" Luna couldn't help but think of having a cute familiar sometime in the future. The Magierprinz paused for a moment at the mention of two girls who perfectly matched the description of Maoin and Gwynn, and had to stop himself from spitting out some of his drink "Errr ... a black haired kitten and a blonde woman, I'm guessing?" He shook his head for a moment before countinuing. "Actually, yes. I believe the kitten's name was Maoin. Such a cute little thing. I've not seen them since though." Luna said in response with a smile remembering the little kitten. The prince nodded in confirmation for a second, before countinuing. "I mean, what would you expect out of them ... like chores, pettings, combat?" The nobleman was more curious, since this woman had never had a familiar ... it was odd to him. "Be careful about the adorable ones. They destroy your wallet." Of course, the Prince was speaking from experience. "Well, I may be a bit biased coming from my house and our specific traditions, but I would not expect them to do anything I could not and at the same time expect them to be prepared even for those things. Combat is a staple in the lifestyle of Lightsword's domain so they'd likely accompany me." That was her "official" reply but she let down her noble mask for a minute to say something in addition. "Unless of course it's something like that cute catgirl familiar I saw. I'd probably pet and cuddle them daily." She brought the noble persona back out with a cough. "That is likely how it would be for me, why do you ask?" The nobleman stopped for a moment. "I have a friend whos having difficulty with hers, so I was wondering what another person of my status would think about the problem." He didn't give out any more details regaurding the specific situation, and hoped he had been vauge enough. "So are you looking to adopt a kitten as your own then? More as a bed warmer than anything else?" The magierprinz added the last part in as a joke, not knowing about the other persons's ... sexualtiy. Luna laughed slightly at Swen's thought. "I don't see myself adopting a cat for a familiar any time soon. As much as I'd love it, I don't think it would be an amazingly good idea right now." The Knightess thought to the issues of the night prior. "Still, if I did get a small kitten it would definitely get plenty of attention." She heartily commented but went back to the noble's first point. "I'm not sure about issues with a familiar, but between humans it can be nice to have a good heart to heart talk. If the familiar can talk, then maybe they can just talk." Luna thought about that, but that would be too easy. Still, she just wanted to finish her point. "I guess, just understanding each other can help bonds between each other. Maybe there is something they both enjoy they can use to understand each other better?" With little more information than, "She's having trouble with her familiar" there was little more for Luna to add. The magierprinz nodded as he listened. "I already advised the first point, but I didn't think about the second ... but one of the mistress' complaints was that her familiar didn't really have any hobbies of her own - if the mistress left the house, she believed her familiar would simply wait there, and it worried her. The familiar is completely focused on being a servant, according to her." That was one of the core issues that Gwynn had with Maoin - her kitten didn't have many outside hobbies. "Hmmm, yes, that would be an issue wouldn't it? Could one assume that the familiar's hobby would be caring for her master to the best of her abilities?" Luna asked, not expecting much. It was just wildly throwing something out there. "If I use myself as an example, I am expected to fight and possibly die for my house. As I mentioned combat is part of the overall life-blood of our house. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy fighting while doing my duties." She couldn't help but use herself as an example with a lack of other people to use as one. The Prince blinked for a moment, but nodded in agreement. The nobleman understood the need to uphold a noble line's privlages, estates, and agreements. Sometimes that meant battle against a powerful foe. "If my friend isn't into being doted on though, that means their hobbies are not compatible, are they? I'm wondering about how you could introduce her to a new hobby." "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." Luna said. She felt it worked out her quite well as far as analogies go. "The only thing I can think of on that point is for your friend to accept the doting. Maybe she can find out something if she does. If your friend is ignoring her familiar, I can't imagine it ending well for either party. Beisdes, if that catgirl from the other day tried doting on me I'd pet and tell her she was doing a good job." Luna was imagining the situation now. By this point, the Prince was starting to wonder if all the lightswords were obsessed with cat-girl familiars and blushed slightly at the thought. It was a strange thought, although not one he could disagree with. The black haired kitten was rather cute ... the man coughed after a few seconds of thought, interupting it. "So you think that perhaps her mistress should show her appreciation more often for the girl's efforts?" Lunalel smirked a little at Swen's question, "Who doesn't like being appriciated? I'm sure the familiar is the same way. Don't you like it when someone says how well you've done on something?" At the time, a waitress came and gave her the food she ordered. She took a quick sip of her drink and sighed in relief at the refreshing taste of liquid in her mouth. "Familiars are almost human from what I can tell, so it would make sense if they like praise." The Prince nodded. "Thanks ... I will probably advise her on that matter. Perhaps it will aid her?" The nobleman seemed uncertain if his visit with the noblewoman was finished. After a few moments, the man stood up, extending his hand once more to the youngest member of the Lightsword house. "It was nice to meet you, Luna. May I return the favor of advice in the future." "I can only hope that I gave you decent advice." Luna replied as she accepted the handshake with a smile. "I'm just going to finish my meal up then." She said as she went to her food. The prince bowed slightly as he left the tavern, wondering when he would run into his berothed next.
