That map was an eldritch fucking abomination that presumably contained knowledge not meant to be discovered by man within its complex coordinates. But yeah that was actually a really good map.
You may be pleased to know that the Milky Way Galaxy's accretion disc has a height of a mere 1,000 lightyears. An accurate model map would be effectively flat relative to its length and width. Of course, I would be measuring in increments of a hundred, so that would still be a minimum of 10 z-levels. I can begin mapping as soon as I start receiving precise coordinate locations. For our purposes, Sagittarius A* will be coordinate 0,0,0, and Sol will be our Galactic South at approximately 0, -170, 0. Dimensions for the map will presume 100,000 Lightyear length and width or 1000 coordinate points for the X and Y axis (ranging from -500 to 500), with the Z axis possessing the aforementioned 10 coordinate points (ranging from -5 to 5) for a grand total volume of a mere 7,850,000 coordinate points assuming a cylindrical map. I understand that such a low figure is not optimal for purposes of precision, but I trust that you will all be able to fight to the death in a tidy fashion over the prime points as it were.
