Kyle could not believe his ears. He tried to process what he heard, but the blood pounding in his ears couldnt stop. Nikki had lost the baby. He had failed. Nikki was going to hate him for not getting there sooner, and he hated himself. He should have been with Nikki, he should have never let her go anywhere alone. Kyle had a million "what ifs" and had no answers.

Kyle stood up, realizing how messed up he was. He was covered in blood, his hair was a mess, and his eyes he could feel were probably looking crazy. If he thought he looked back in the vehicle he must look even worse now. Kyle thought for a moment he shoudl go out and clean up, or do something. But he realized that was selfish. Nikki would want to talk to him, to hate him, to blme him when she woke up. Kyle sat back down with a blank expression.
