State of the World House Balkr King Havardr’s successor, King Ulfrik I Balkr, decided to oppose overly militaristic focus in favor of deepening the economy to support future campaigns. Whilst the shores of his homeland held harsh winters it made the summer and fall harvests all the more imperative. Longships have been converted to fishing vessels in time of peace, winter wheat has become the focus of agricultural production, and the production of simple metals has increased tenfold of his predecessor thus strengthening the region. House Caine King Artur’s successor, King Parric I Caine, held a reign that signified growth of his people’s culture and as a result has promoted a more artistic, content, and innovative civilization. Several innovations in the fields of art bled into religious thought, philosophical ideologies, and scientific innovations. The son of a merchant by the name of Ydrin has submitted various “patents” to the monarchy in hopes of royal investment— a hope that developed into a guild of sorts in the capital of Oiseau that by the time of Parric’s death had been declared a noble university. What this will do for the realm in the near future can only be pondered. House Krowe King Henrik’s successor, King Eirian I Krowe, was utterly ruthless in his ambitions and the expansion of his holdings as evident by several petty wars with neighboring territories as well as the centralization of trade in The Hinterlands. He promoted economic depth to fund his wars and elevated several merchant family’s to lesser nobility as he gave them new lands in exchange for financial support in what was to come. The most powerful of these houses, House Kathaim, has become involved with the efforts of House Krowe. By the end of King Eirian’s reign he had conquered several islands as well as pushed into the mainland of the Hinterlands, utterly decimating the lord who held the lands with his superior naval fleet. House Krowe has elevated hunters to archers in times of war also creating a new class of their military ranks. House Thralon King Alaric’s successor, King Lothar I Thralon, took the population that increased during his father’s time to focus on the development of putting it to work. Strengthening the basic construction of the city of Thraim, the working population have built strong walls of wood and stone around the capital for defense as well as strengthened the integrity of mines, ports, and homes. These fortifications and developments have made House Thralon's lands more defensible.
